The Turtle Library #6: Early Edition
Added 2017-11-09 14:42:19 +0000 UTCThe book Cricket is reading is inspired by the BBC television show "Secrets of the Castle, with Ruth, Peter, and Tom" . It's an amazing show about a castle that is currently being built in Guedelon, France. Everyone working on or around the castle does so using only items and technology that would have been available in Medieval times. This makes the whole project a sort of proof of concept for any theories about "how life wuz" that a historian may have. It's truly remarkable stuff, and I highly recommend checking out an episode of the show (and I recommend myself watch past the second episode!).
Speaking of the process of construction, this week's process pictures include a page from the visual script/deluxe thumbnails I drew over a year ago, when I first began plotting out this arc. It was an interesting method, and I'm considering continuing it for the rest of this book. It sure has been nice having these pages pre-thumbnailed (I have all of the panels through the first 20 or so pages finished), though I had better start drawing more if I don't want the thumbnail-writing version of me to get run over by the finished-page-drawing version!
