And here are the inks of the second shirt! Plus, if you'll direct your attention downward, you will encounter evidence of the strange and circuitous process which lead to this illsutration. You see, the pencil drawing below is a page of quick warm-up drawings I made while waiting for a Story Planet session to begin. I usually do this (as recommended by Josh) in order get my hand and mind loosened up before diving into the wacky worlds and characters the kids come up with.
I've recently started uploading designs to my new threadless artists shop, so I figured I might as well ink my favoritewarm-up drawing, add a bit of pizazz, color it (which I still have to do!), and throw it up as a new shirt design.
After inking this first part (the portion that is inked on the bottom-most image) I had the thought that a giant warped-perspective pinball machine might fit the composition pretty nicely, and perhaps even double as a second option for the City Pinball leage t-shirt I am working on. Thus, I taped on a scond sheet of paper and drew in the portion that is shown in blue pencil on that same lower image.
And that's how an incidental doodle becomes part of a Real Drawing (whatever that means).
