YOUNG ROYALS 3x1 FULL REACTION

One specific parallel is Simon being in Wilhelm's room for the first time and calling it "cozy" as sort of joke, since it's really not cozy, and that was what Wilhelm said the first time he was in Simon's room.

Hey, I was the one with the ask about Linda's reaction to Simon's drug selling! After hearing your side of things I want to clarify that I do get her disappointment and shock. I think her feelings are very much justified here. What I think I really struggle with is that the way she talked to Simon came across as very aggressive and I especially feel like it's questionable parenting to only focus on the punishment part in this specific situation. When handling the topic of drugs I wouldn't demonize my kid (or give them the feeling that I do) but try to handle the situation with care since resentment over feeling unrightfully punished might make your kid distance themselves from you and further get them on the wrong track. I myself struggle with addiction and I know from experience that being met with negativity over it doesn't result in good things. Talking more from Simon's pov here though I think he really does feel treated unfairly and my reasoning for it is that he is a very family-oriented person and his loved ones are always his top priority as we've seen on several occasions. We know he sold the booze so Sara could go to a party and then sold the drugs to get more money to pay his tuition fees and pay back his dad. In the very first episode of S1 after Sara argues with their mother and runs off, Simon is quick to comfort Linda and reassure her that things are going to be okay. We know that he only broke off the contact to his dad because Sara wanted him to and if it had been up to him, he would have kept meeting him. And last but not least, he has been only going to Hillerska to make sure Sara is okay and won't get bullied like in her old school. I'm aware the following is a theory and not canon but I believe that Simon has tried to be "the man in the house" in a way, trying to take care of his mum and sister and make sure everyone is doing well. So from his perspective most, if not all of his actions are motivated by making sure his family and loved ones are okay, so it must have hurt a lot when his mum didn't care to hear his side of things (when as far as we know he had never lied to her about anything before and has always been a perfect son) and was quick to shout him down and punish him this way. I'm (semi) sorry for this huuuuge comment, I just wanted to get all my thoughts on this out πŸ˜…
