I recently watched an old Byrds documentary called 'Under Review' on YouTube that covers their whole history, and a few of the guys from this incarnation of the band were interviewed at length. It's interesting how Roger McGuinn retained his status as band leader, yet often seemed to be going along for the ride in his own band, cycling through a succession of musicians who would take the wheel for a little while before splitting or getting fired.
