Victorville Memories and MORE!

Seffay!

It was great to be back with a fun show! I didn't know what to expect from Kevin Morby, except that I liked his music but he turned out to be a real team player! Fun and funny! Buzz Buzz.

I watched Mank last night... uhh, I didn't really like it very much, sad to say... I SHOULD like it... it's a very interesting subject: Hollywood and politics - but the tortured writer, up against the deadline to write a masterpiece is just not really that fun to watch. And Gary Oldman (Old Man) was really on and off for me... when he was off, playing drunk,  it was... OFFFFF.

but it did remind me that a few years ago, me, Gregg, Eric N. and our producer went out to Victorville and rented THAT VERY RANCH  for a few days to finish up writing the last 2 seasons of Decker

The ranch is really cool and weird. I think it was originally a hunting lodge, so it's meant to sleep a lot of people.  There were several dining rooms and rooms with bunk beds... A great room with a nice grand piano, but mostly it was just nice and boring and quiet so we could focus on the important work of how to cram a "Christmas Carol" story into a Decker Episode.  (See: Double Decker with Denny Laine)

I really can't wait to get back into a real room writing something again. I've had several conference calls and zooms attempting to be creative and productive,  but they always drive me nuts.  Yesterday I was on one, talking about pitching a thing, and there was this dog barking in the background on someone else's line.   It went on for several minutes and I could barely keep from just hanging up. And there's all this cross talk, "sorry, no you go ahead"

I was trying to butt in and I no one would let me, until i realized i was holding my phone in a way that was covering the mic. Zoom is a little better when you can see the other people and maybe there's a little less lag than on a cell phone... I, like you I'm sure, am just at my wit's end with the Trump Virus. It' just keeps grinding and grinding on us. Fuck.  I try to be grateful that I'm not destitute at the moment and me and my family remain healthy but I am really longing for the "before times."

What else! Oh me and Natalie got together yesterday to record a Tom Petty cover for an upcoming online charity show https://lagivesback.org/   you can catch it "live" on 12/18 - can you guess what song we did????

Sunday is the Season (?) Finale of Moonbase 8! They're running the last 2 back to back to coordinate with the new Bryan Cranston show and according to our A24 contact, everyone at Showtime is very happy with the show so hopefully we'll make more when we can? Who knows!

We're also starting to work on the On Cinema relaunch and we'll have more news on that soon... right now we're just doing a lot of planning and talking and figuring out the best approach but everyone is of one mind: ON CINEMA SHALL RETURN IN 2021!

I hope you tune in tonight to catch the live watch-along of The Chrimbus Special! Me and Eric are really excited to watch together and it's for a good cause! if you haven't gotten tickets yet you can grab them here: chrimbus.biz

Finally, here's a pic of me with my new carving knife, which brought me so much happiness on Thanksgiving. Look at that length!

Peace and Love to you all! -t

imagine paying money to be a part of an exclusive online community, then using hate speech to insult the very people you are paying. Great Job!

I am a fan of Office Hours and friends because the humor is not based on hate or discrimination. Your comments are not wanted here Chris, and even if you meant it in some kind of post-ironic way they still aren't wanted.

hey chris. thanks for being a patreon but calling anything "gay" (assuming you're using it as a derogatory term) is not cool in my book.
