Good Morning Gang!

Thanks for all your Patreon ideas last week. I think the plan is to keep our simple 5 dollar a month plan very robust and full of fun stuff like After Hours, The Beatles Podcast, something new coming from Vic and Doug and other premiums at least until Fall and see where we're at. I'm thinking of a fun way to "Lock In 5 Bucks For Life" kinda deal... but we're also just trying to stay focused and patient and put out a good show each week. Actually, we did add a higher "I'm Like Dylan" tier: 10 bucks a month and you get nothing extra, based on one of the suggestions in the comments last week... It's really for people who can afford it and really love the show. we're not pushing it, but it's there.
I'm really happy with the last few shows! Neil Hamburger was a special treat for me. Actually, our Producer Matt was the first person to introduce me to Neil way back in 2000 or 2001! In fact, Matt, who in another lifetime was the de facto manager of The Tim Heidecker Masterpiece, sent our CD to Neil and years later Neil put it together that I was him and he was me and we are all together... ha ha ha, hee hee hee... I don't think I've ever laughed with as much fury as some of those first few Neil shows I saw here in LA. Anyway, you know the rest of the story, but it was really fun to just sit back and let him go. One of my favorite things growing up was David Letterman's Late Night show. He was so good at finding young talent, and oddballs and interesting people and often times staying out of the way and letting his guest be funny. I wanna try and keep that in the back of my head going forward. Great, here comes the "I'm like Letterman" drops!
I have a recommendation! It's funny, since On Cinema, it has been a little annoying to talk about movies online. I get the same old "in character" comments like "what do you know about movies, Heidecker!" But you guys know I for real love good stuff. ... I finally got to see "Come And See": a highly lauded war movie from The Soviet Union , 1980s about WW2 - Its EXTREMELY traumatic and stressful so if you're not in the mood for that I would stay away, but it' to me it's one of the, if not THE best war movie I've ever seen. Technically, it's one of those massive scale films where nearly every shot you wonder "how the hell did they do that?" The acting is unreal... I can't stop thinking about it. It's on the Criterion App:

Also someone alerted me to this: https://thoughtmaybe.com/by/adam-curtis/
All of Adam Curtis' movies in one place! Curtis is one of my favorite filmmakers and has worldview and perspective on history has influenced me in a big way. Sorry for the dark reccs!
Abso produced a great little short film for Adult Swim called "Piggy" / It's really funny and dark (of course) with great music from Jerry Paper! Check it out on the Adult Swim App!
And tune in to the SEASON Finale of Beef House! Sunday!
OK that's all for now. See you Thursday for another big show show. We've got a very dumb surprise for you.
Until Then,
Tim
PS: Here's a home demo of "I Saw Nicholas Cage" I think I like the bass better on this one!
