She wasn’t sure why those three words made her stomach contract. “Thank you.”
He slipped his hands into his pockets and leaned against the doorjamb as he regarded her silently.
“Roth’s a lucky man,” he said finally.
Her smile wavered for a moment before she got a hold of it and turned up the wattage. “That’s what I tell him,” she lied.
“You’re a fascinating woman.”
When a tense silence fell, she took a step back. “I better go.”
He said nothing as she turned away and reached for the door handle.
“Jasmine.”
She hesitated before she looked over her shoulder with a raised brow.
“If you need anything, call me.”
The way he was looking at her… She nodded and quickly exited, taking a deep breath before she hurried down the steps. That hadn’t been a casual invitation. He wasn’t a casual man. He meant it.
