Book Update!

Hey guys!

Starting in April I'll be posting the raw draft in 1k+ word chunks! I'm splitting up the chapters for multiple reasons:

1. My work isn't protected on Patreon (the book was pirated the last time I posted the raw draft). I think most of these people will be annoyed (hopefully dissuaded) if they're copying dozens of mini snippets to make up the whole chapter.

2. I'm also still revising/editing, so I'll post as I go.

I'm not sure if I'll be posting the full raw draft to Patreon because of pirating (maybe 75-80%??) but those who are subscribed when the book goes live will receive the ebook the week of the official release!

For my Super Patrons: You will get the raw draft when I send it to editor and the final along with the other patrons.

I still don't have a release date because once I'm done with revisions, BC will be sent to an editor and that takes 2-3 weeks for her to go through the manuscript. And once I get back her edits, I'll do final tweaks. Because I'm so behind, my editor's having to fit me in between her other projects so the release date is kind of up in the air right now and I don't have a concrete publication date. BUT, you guys will get first peek at the story and if I'm debating about last minute ideas, I'll pitch them to you and see what you think!

I'm going to try to stick to my 4x/week postings which will be a chapter or two a week? This will vary since the chapter can be anywhere from 2k words to 8k. If a scene has image inspiration, I'll share that, too!

Personal Update:

My life feels like a series of unfortunate events lately. I just got back from Las Vegas and it isn't for the reason you're thinking. My RV is in a storage facility there and it got broken into. Since spring break is in full swing and I didn't know how long I would need to be there, I decided to drive down instead. I've done this drive several times (and it's not a walk in the park, let me tell ya), but this one had more complications than most.

My mom came with me. I was happy for the company on the 14+ hour drive (one way!) and 850+ miles (each way). I was also grateful for her help since I needed to board up some broken windows, replace a lock, and some other things that was a 2 person job. I had to make several trips to Home Depot for drill bits, plywood, and other things. I also had to visit the police station to make a report and deal with insurance, Thankfully, things move quickly in Las Vegas and I was in and out within 4 days, but the trip in total took a week.

On the way back, we ran into some winter storms. I was walking out of Walmart in Susanville, CA with tampons, water, and snow chains and shook my head, marveling at the bizarre situations I've been in lately. Life has been throwing some insane obstacles in my path over the past couple of months. Hopefully, I'm through the worst of the storm and can finally finish this book I've been trying to revise for 3 months! Ahh!

Thankfully, we made it back to Oregon in one piece. I'm really enjoying my time in the Pacific Northwest! The mossy trees and constant rain... It's been helping me decompress while dealing with the emotional turmoil my family has been going through.

I'm so thankful I have writing as an outlet. Jasmine and I are almost identical in our writing sense. If we're upset, we write. If we're ecstatic, we write. I can always create a scene where I can use how I'm feeling and also sort through my emotions through the character on the page. I don't know how people cope without having a way to channel emotion this way.
