He pulled out his phone and messaged his men to make sure Jasmine had made it safely back to Boston, and relaxed when he got instant confirmation. If he had his way, Jasmine wouldn’t have left Tuxedo Park after their lunch today. But, it would take time to convince her to come home. He rapped his fingers on the door before he stopped himself.

He was making progress. Jasmine came to him, and he had her agreement to visit regularly. That was enough for now. If he had to, he would use his poor health to convince her to move in. It was a miracle some nut job hadn’t kidnapped her for ransom. She was the daughter of a billionaire and the estranged wife of a man who was making a name for himself while also accumulating an alarming list of enemies. He shook his head. Jasmine was a fucking Wharton graduate living in some studio in a widow’s backyard writing erotic novels. He ignored the foreign urge to chuckle.
