UNCUT Moonlight Chicken Ep 7 Reaction part 1

UNCUT Moonlight Chicken Ep 7 Reaction part 1

I definitily agree about liking the differences between shows in how they approach and treat gay relationships. there's more lighthearted and more serious ones, in both realities of whether homophobia is a thing or not. sometimes you just want something lighthearted where having a same-sex couple isn't an issue whatsoever, especially if you want to see some representation of yourself on screen without having to experience constant heartache because of it, but sometimes you also want to see a realistic approach to it on screen that's more relatable and can potentially be eye-opening for some people, even if that means it includes homophobia etc. there should be a variety of different content for LGBTQ+ people's representation on screen, so I'm glad that's the case!

This episode is so emotional... didn't help that so many series ended that week and we had so many emotional scenes in all of them, I was a real mess by the end of the week... Khaotung's acting, once again blew me away this episode. I can't wait to watch part 2 of your reaction with the cremating scene... Let's just say, I can't listen to the song without tearing up because of that scene... By the way, the title of the episode "Heart represents the moon" is the title of the chinese song. There were very blink and you miss it hints about Gaipa's mom, one of the most obvious ones was in episode 4, when we see her on the bed holding the medications and looking scared and sad. And her insistence for Gaipa to find someone clearly shows she's worried about him being alone because she might not be there for long anymore. But it was still a real shock when it happened and I had not expected her to actually die before the end of the series. The way Gaipa just crumpled in Jim's arms... my heart, this poor boy... as you said, he needs a break from the heartbreak... Alan being there at the funeral, in a way, Gaipa's mom is helping him meet someone even after her death... Loved how it took you a moment there to make the connection that finally Gaipa and Allan actually met. I don't blame you, emotions were high this episode... The flashback with Beam's parents adds another layer to why Jim is so closed off, and wary. Also, it explains his attachment to the bank (remember how he refused to go to another bank), it was because all his assets with Beam were in that bank. And once again, more realism with the reminder of how important it is for same sex couple to have the same rights when it comes to marriage and the legal recognition that comes with it. Jim basically lost everything (they were ready to take his car if it were in Beam's name) after Beam died because they were not legally married (it's implied that they were in the non official way, with Jim wearing a ring). Also loved the politic talks with Wen at the beginning of the episode. Jim's reaction to Li Ming being gay come from his own experience, he's been through so much hardships and he can't help thinking it's related to his sexual orientation. So he's scared for Li Ming, as you pointed out, he wants a good life for his nephew. And you can see on Jim's face the regret once he realises that his lashing out resulted in Li Ming being outed to his mom... His expression immediately changed and he looked worried. In episode 3, Jim told Wen that Jam was homophobic, or at least not accepting and believes that two men couldn't have a serious relationship. You're right, it's the same actress as Gun's mom, but this character is so different. When she tells Jim she wants Li Ming to live with her and her future husband, you can see Jim wants to protest but in the end it's her son, and he doesn't really have a say. Although, he still is the legual gardian so he could oppose. I just really love the dynamic between Li Ming and Jim, it's one of my fave aspects aside from the romantic relationships. I'll wait for part 2 to comment on it more since part 1 ended just before my favorite scene with these 2. I love how we sam Heart outside of the house with his parents and even better, the parents are learning sign language. This character developpment made me cry again... Jim and Wen are so cute on their 'date' and after when Jim is staying over. We're getting there, but not quite yet. But this episode definitely was a step in the right direction for their relationship. Can't wait for part 2 of the reaction :)
