Design some Gorons! -|- Legend of Zelda

This was a suggestion from a ways back that I'd been kicking about for some time. I appreciate suggestions of "do -insert fantasy race/species- in your style!" It's such a fun brain-exercising creative challenge! Do I want to stay more on model, loyal to the original style but still putting my stank on it? Or do I want to just sample from the source material and just go apeshit with my own thoughts? In the end I landed somewhere in between! I love the play-space of lore structure, but also appreciate the wiggle room of getting to do my own thing.

So I gave a brief description of some facts that I think might suit them? But avoided getting too specific, because I'd like to be eventually lend these out for people's personal play; that way folks can decide their own things for them!


That said? Here's the thoughts I play with while I was having my fun designing the details, left to right:

Zeuk; An old stadium fighter, but retired after his gambling habits got the better of him. His magma-pulsating gauntlets are his most beloved treasure, though its rumored he stole them from a temple he had no business trespassing within. Nowadays he largely keeps to what he considers to be "low-key jobs," like hunting monster nests for rare parts!

BIG ISLAND; An island-born goron that never tires of his lazy beach lifestyle.
Either he can hold his breath obscenely long or can filter oxygen through water, but regardless, he is often seen wading through the reef where he farms shellfish while encouraging coral growth. The palm tree growing from his back makes him easy to find when it's sprouting from the water's surface. To get him to sell his wares to you, he has to coaxed to groove back to the shore through some spicy beats. He also has a bound poe on his belt. It is a mystery!

Sugilite; A wild eyed merchant with an appreciation for all things mysterious, shiny, and valuable! He is seldom seen without his flock of attentive crows, whom of which are quite adept at pilfering and plucking any shiny trinket they think their inky bodies can take off with. Sugi himself was born to a great chasm of crystal nestled in the divide of the isle.
