I initially didn't like that they made the core cast play the same, but I ended up really loving the badge system. If you want Luigi to play like SMB2, they got a badge for that, etc. Honestly, this is the first Mario game since SMW that really grabbed me and gave that feeling that the classic ones did, and honestly I never thought it my 40s a game could do that again, but sure enough, Wonder had me feeling like a 10 year old playing SMB3 for the first time with how much creativity was jammed in there.

2024-02-05 15:43:16 +0000 UTCI probably need to play more, but this hasn't clicked with me. Likely it's because I haven't been playing around with badges, out of a misplaced notion that I'm somehow cheating. It'd probably be more fun with online people, too
