Hello folks, and welcome to our slightly revamped Patreon! As always, we greatly value your support and thank you for sticking with us. Let's get some important things out of the way first.
- If you want to access our twice-monthly Friday episodes from here on out, you will need to sign up for any tier that's $5 or higher. These episodes will be standard, numbered episodes of Retronauts, exclusive to Patreon and never available on the free feed. Note that no previous Friday episodes will be going behind a paywall, and signing up for any tier that's $5 or higher will also give you week-early access to Monday episodes.
- We've deleted many tiers in accordance with the plan we made public to you back in November. That said, if you were a member of the 6, 10, 15, or 20-dollar tier before today, you are still giving that much monthly, but you are now in a "no rewards" tier. To fix this, you need to sign up for an existing tier before the end of the month. (Unless you're okay with receiving no rewards for your monthly donation.)
Some less-important stuff: We've also eliminated a lot of existing goals based on what we have the bandwidth to make and what our listeners want. We've also adjusted previously met goals, not because we ever expect to sink below those levels, but to give you a better idea of our expenses. As we move closer to wrapping up our seventh year of doing this independently, we definitely have a much better idea of what everything costs.
There's also one new goal! $13,000 will add another new podcast per month for $5+ patrons, bringing our total output to seven episodes per month!
That said, you should still expect to see some minor tweaks to this page over the coming weeks, but we'll be sure to update you about any major changes. This update has been a long time coming, and we're very excited about how it will enable us to focus a lot more on why you're here: podcasts! Make sure you're signed up for the $5 tier and not just donating $5 outside of that.

(You should also be able to see but not access them if you're below the $5 level.) For the record, we posted two episodes to the $5 tier as a bonus for early adopters: one about the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy text adventure, and another one about Super Mario RPG.

2020-01-04 17:32:06 +0000 UTCI updated my pledge to $5 USD a month, but the gated media still has a paywall overlay. This has been an issue for me since the initial announcement was made last year. I'm unsure why. It seems to be affecting my other subscriptions as well. I know you're not community management for Patreon, and I haven't seen others post the same issue, but I am hoping you may have some insight into the problem. I can DM if that works better.

I remember it distinctly, but it seems to be gone from the feed now. I figured it was a mistake since that would be this week's this entry, but I kind of want confirmation that my memory isn't just going hazy.
