2018-10-24 19:52:37 +0000 UTCBionic Commando has the best remake and a great reboot. There I said it. Rearmed is nigh perfect, and the Bionic Commando sequel/reboot on PS3/Xbox 360 is an insane guilty pleasure. It's better than people ever gave it credit for.

I guess there was a time when the idea of revisiting classic franchises seemed more appealing, especially when their previous versions were less accessible. For me, living in the Disney/Marvel age of entertainment, where IP is run into the ground with rare instances of creative risk, I kind of like the restrained approach. That said, I do appreciate opportunities to revisit games I missed the first time around. But, my preference would be to see more support for re-releases via virtual console and classic compilations than remakes and reboots.

2018-10-23 12:38:08 +0000 UTCI happily woke up this morning to see a new Retronauts post and was extremely eager to listen to it on my drive to work only to see the file wasn't there and had to spend the entire drive listening to local morning radio and now I feel I want financial compensation. From morning radio, not you guys.

The first game was fun but it lacked most of the cool stuff associated with the games like weird secrets, evolving weapons, etc. Porting everything that made Tools of Destruction and Up Your Arsenal so engrossing back into the original story was a HUGE improvement IMO
