Slightly early access: Retronauts episode 51

It took me a while to find the time to get this one finished up and create the cover artwork for it, but here we go! It's finally here: Episode 51, recorded live at Portland Retro Gaming Expo. It's a series of four different one-on-one conversations about the NES launch. The different chats cover a bit of the same ground, perhaps unavoidably, but hopefully you'll forgive the small amount of repetition for the pleasure of hearing expert opinions from game historians Frank Cifaldi, Gary Butterfield, Steve Lin, and of course Bob Mackey.

XD now i can't get that song out of my head.

SMB hit around the time Elton John's "Nikita" was saturating the airwaves, so we always just pronounced "Lakitu" with the same cadence... lah-KEE-too.

Thanks!

excellent episode! I have two very early NES memories. One being a bunch of us kids sitting around the school lunchroom table when I was in 5th grade looking at the SMB game booklet and everyone trying to pronounce Lakitu's name. The other being a bit later sometime in 6th grade and going over this one kids house who had SMB2 and just being floored by it, going home and drawing out as many of the levels as I could from memory. I wanted that game so bad. haha

My earliest NES memory was watching my dad playing Hogans Alley.
