Retronauts Vol. IV Episode 32: When Games Jump the Shark

Sometimes, good games can go bad. And when they do, they usually go REALLY bad. On this episode of Retronauts, join Bob Mackey, Jeremy Parish, Kat Bailey, and Mikel Reparaz as the crew tries to pinpoint when certain series went off the rails and into oblivion--and if any of them ever recovered. If you disagree with the opinions within, just remember: That's perfectly okay! We won't begin etching edicts in stone until our Patreon hits at least six figures.

great episode :)

Nope! Was definitely one of the most common complaints about the game, as I recall, particularly close to release when comment sections everywhere wouldn't shut up about it.

I wait for the main show as pateron is blocked at work...

God. I felt like I was the only one that hated the friend in-game of GTA IV. I swear...no other game accurately depicts a clingy girlfriend better than that game.

Still haven't been able to listen to it, but I feel I should include Indigo Prophecy, as it seems a HD remaster of that trainwreck will be upon us soon. The first third of the game is rather OK, but the latter part is such a maelstrom of madness and terrible decisions that it is baffling to see David Cage putting his name as a master Auteur in the boxes of his games. I'll try to be back after listening to the episode to weigh in the variety of shark-jumping games.
