Hi all,
I wanted to give you an update on my recent surgery. On Monday, I had a carpal/cubital tunnel release on my right arm, and I'm happy to report that it was successful. I have a follow-up appointment in about a week and a half to have the stitches removed. So far, so good!
I spent the first few days keeping my arm elevated and on ice. During this time, I finally watched the last season of Game of Thrones while in a painkiller-induced daze, lol.
By Thursday, I was feeling restless and eager to get back to the drawing table. I'm pleased to say that things have been going well in that regard. My right hand, unlike my drawing hand, doesn't need to do anything too demanding, just pressing shortcut keys, mostly. While my grip strength and range of motion will take time to recover, and I have some restrictions on lifting, pushing, and pulling, it's not interfering with basic tasks like using the keyboard and mouse.
On that note, I've been happily making progress on new illustrations. Currently, I have three in development. Usually, I focus on one at a time, but I've been following my whims and jumping between them, working on hair for one, or color filling for another as the mood strikes.
I look forward to sharing them with you soon!
All the best,
Mina
