Just a post of thanks

About a year ago, after a few of my earliest Patrons started supporting my work, I finally determined I could budget working on my books and YouTube channel full-time. And for almost the entire year, that's exactly what I've been doing.

COVID and raising my family (four little kiddos 8 and under!) have definitely taken their share of patience. But being able to do the testing I do, and help inspire some of the projects that I've seen come out in the past year—these are things that are priceless, and have also helped me chug along through possibly the two worst years in recent history to raise a bunch of kids :D

*Directly* due to your support, I was able to purchase the graphics card pictured above, and am hopeful I can get close to getting it working on the Pi. At least to some extent.

And a lot of people ask why. They think it's ridiculous. And it is!

But that's only if you look at it from one perspective. I've learned a *ton* about Linux, drivers, memory mapping, 32-bit vs 64-bit Linux, Raspberry Pi OS, and heck, even graphics processors—all through my research for this 'ridiculous' project.

And I get to share as much of that as possible with all of you—and with the wider audience on my YouTube channel.

I'm not like some other creators, with exclusive Patron-only content (though maybe that'll change with an official Discord some time...), so know that I thank you even more so, for putting some trust in my work, and helping me do the crazy things that I can on my channel, sharing everything along the journey!

Glad it's helpful! I will try to make sure to always include that.

Very much like your in-depth onscreen debug - pls continue to capture the key ah-ha! moments and things-i-tried footage - makes our time educational 😊

yeah... it's got me scratching my head. The missing PCIe bits on the SoC are throwing everyone for a loop so far.

You need that extra crazy to make your viewer base grow. So I think it was definitely a good move to buy it. Also it's not like that card is going to lose any of it's value anytime soon :) Though yesterday I've read through some of the issue topics on your Github about the AMD graphic driver problems, and it seems there are some major blockers in the way, especially the broken PCIe coherent transfer and the related BCM2711 hardware bugs. :(
