Update on Riptide’s Hiatus
Added 2024-10-15 01:43:15 +0000 UTCOur last update was a free patreon video in June, mentioning the chaos of this year and that we’d hope to start recording Riptide in August, if we finished Wonderlust by then. It’s October and we have not reached that point still. Sincerest apologies for taking longer to update again. We’ll likely stick to written updates from now on so it’s easier to digest and actually gets pushed to the website. Although, Bizly handles merch updates, so he may continue his powerpoint presentations for those.
We put Riptide on hiatus with an approximate end time of 6 months back in Dec 2023. It has been nearly a full year since, and so to elaborate a little more, here is what has been happening and where we are at.
Shortly afterwards, in January, our team structure behind the scenes completely changed. This caused us to have less time recording with Charlie as he planned to pursue other projects more.
We then began prepping Wonderlust to fill the public content void, which we wanted to film to completion in person. This took a month to book and was scheduled once the team transition completed in April. Then, Condi was held at the border, unable to fly out, causing a huge upset in our plans. This ultimately led to us filming 7 out of 24 planned episodes. Thanks Canada. We since decided we will have to stick to online recording indefinitely.
There was weeks in between recording episode 7 & 8 of Wonderlust, as we all figured out how to set up individual greenscreens while two of us were in the process of packing and moving cities / states. This probably explains how we forgot Troy unshit his pants.
Since then we have been recording online, working around the cast’s constantly varying schedules. We have recorded up to episode 13, so you can probably guess how difficult it has been to get the four of us together consistently. However, next month we will likely have Charlie back full time, which will be a big boon!
Even when we have Charlie back full time, we still limit ourselves to recording two campaigns in every week we are all available, which means we will have to finish recording Wonderlust before we can begin recording Riptide.
Theres not an exact date on when we will finish Wonderlust. It is our currently active main campaign and Bizly does not want to rush it or be made to feel like he should. Even with our recordings scheduled out, it’s hard to be sure.
We estimate we start recording and uploading riptide March-June next year. Whenever we get closer, we will update with more concrete dates.
Rarely does a D&D show do two campaigns at once utilizing the same cast. While we try our best, we are ultimately a small team of independent creators with more going on outside of the show.
We care tremendously about all of our campaigns and characters. They are very personal for us and we are grateful so many people enjoy what we create and share. We hope you’ll continue to enjoy Wonderlust & Judgement when it begins.

I think I can speak for us all when we say that we love the content because it's just all of you being genuine and playing a silly math rock game together. If you guys make it unfun for yourself it will be unfun for us too. So go at your own pace! Grizzly, I love everything that you have done/are doing with Riptide. It is genuinely one of my favorite stories ever written and I KNOW that the finale will be worth however long the wait is. AND I MEAN THAT. Condi, Bizly, and Charlie, your campaigns PERFECTLY fill the void in between this long Riptide hiatus. Some of the funniest bits I've ever heard in a dnd campaign and I love seeing you guys pour out your heart in these mini campaigns and seasonal campaigns. You all are genuinely some of the most creative and funny people I've ever listened to and watched on any platform. You guys genuinely make my hard work days some much better. So thank you all from the bottom of my heart and I can't wait to see what you all do next ❤️❤️

The hiatus content has been fantastic and we know the main campaigns will be even larger hits! This show never fails to amaze me and I’m sure everyone else with just how dedicated everyone is to it. Riptide has to be by far one of the best ttrpg campaigns I’ve ever watched and the wait will be well worth it. Non patrons might have different feelings, but I think everything you guys have been putting out since the hiatus. I’m happy with the content I’ve been getting, and so I will keep paying. As a DM, player, and video editor, I understand just how hard DND is without the added stress of making content out of it. Total Monster Kill was incredible, and Wanderlust has been excellent. I understand why people want updates, but there is a level of disrespect that many viewers have leveled at you in recent months. Thank you, guys, for all your hard work. Keep up the awesome work. I look forward to what Wonderlust has in store for us!
