It’s in a shorter campaign, which means characters can be more volatile, and I think Everett’s reasons for betrayal carry enough weight for it to be justified! I also like how the characters were all on the same powerful level, instead of the betrayer being much stronger than the other PC’s.

2024-08-13 20:14:22 +0000 UTCOh no I totally understand WHY the pacing is how it is, and the focus on a deeper narrative makes sense given the restrictive timeframe, I think it was more just the expectations I personally had when I heard the description as "A Monster Hunter themed campaign", as someone who loves the MH franchise to death I guess I kinda got my hopes up to hear how Grizzly would DM hunts and combat themed off MH.

2024-08-13 15:05:12 +0000 UTCOhhh,,,, that's why Rock asked Lucia if she had any visions while on the mission,,,, like Tray did,,, daymn entirely not surprised that Everett sided with monsters on this one, after all the shit he's been through in one day AND Alf goating him on in front of a hackling crowd. wonder how long it will last though, because I don't think they are monster hybrids like Everett, just wired monsters, if this is even what's happening. very happy to see Bebo let lose and finally get to play a straight up crazy kill monster guy, very awesome Jin is really having THE worst day of his life, huh? ptsd, betrayal, the fall of humanity and a fate worse then death for his childhood friend, all in a span of like, 40 minutes? also Lucia falling off of a 50 story building, getting a quest from the other side and bringing herself back from the dead is so metal!! the rolling of 20d6 was so nerve-wracking though funny how much episode 1 foreshadows stuff that happens when shit hits the fan. Lucia peering out of her window being cautious of the height, and for a good reason as it turns out. Jin beating the fuck out of Everett in arm wrestling, a strength based competition, so now Everett knows he can't beat Jin head on so he has to stalk and scheme, very fun ALSO!!!!! good shit everyone on voice acting this episode! special shout-out Griz and Condi for 10/10 agonized screaming, super awesome

I would personally like more hunts bc they are fun but I would prefer a good story and some interesting combats than that. Plus only so much you can do with hunts anyway

I think if he saw the better in humanity through his friends and accepted that maybe things could be better without having to become a monster, he could've developed way more into humanity's greatest hope. Bizly on a whim choosing an alignment and playing it seamlessly. Milo being an MVP again, not to mention the heartbreaking hope that Everret was not fully gone. Hopefully Griz is proud, he should be.
