I am grateful! The team works their ass off to provide for us. However, that doesn’t mean they can’t improve, and simply being grateful for what we’re getting isn’t enough if people feel frustrated. Nothing gets better if you’re keeping quiet about it.

I am in several TTRPG groups, thank you. While I see your point about scheduling, that has nothing to do with what I’m asking of them (effective communication). You’re right that I don’t know them, but I don’t see why or how that means this isn’t a working relationship. Do you personally know the curator of a museum exhibition? Are you friends with the person who puts an art exhibition together? If you’re not, then is it no longer a working/business relationship? I am paying them because they’re providing a service, and I want to support them over and above what they already provide (main campaign for free). I’m not even saying they owe us this. They can read it and totally ignore it. I’m just saying it would be nice.

just want to add in that you are one person who coordinates their own responsibilites. If you have ever been in a dnd group you probably know how difficult it is to have consistent attendence by all players. For me personally its a good campaign if we can get even 4 sessions in without any personal issues lol. Also your thing about "makes this a working relationship" you don't know them. I do not mean to be aggresive i've just seen alot of people taking it upon themselves to tell creators what they owe to consumers.

exactly! we dont want content that they feel was rushed/tiring, if that means waiting a month between episodes so that we get their artistic expression and they are happy i'm fine with that

I don’t know why you’re giving me examples of things that are obviously not what I’m talking about or what I’m referring to. Strawmanning isn’t cute, nor is it a valid argument. I’ve already said this several times, I am aware that “life happens without warning.” Was this (for example) a situation where “life happens without warning”? I don’t think so! Unless the editors are constantly working down to the last hour to get episodes out (which is a whole other can of worms I do not want to get into), then there’s no way they wouldn’t have known that the early access wouldn’t be able to go out on Wednesday. I’m not even asking for a week’s notice. I literally said, in my original comment, that even letting us know a definitive answer the day/night before would be appreciated. And no, tagging important updates onto the bottom of art dump posts is not effective or clear communication. It is absolutely not personal. Patreon is a subscription, it’s not me giving money to a friend or a family member because they asked me to loan them some cash. I am giving money to a small team of people so they have the funds to do as much as they can to keep JRWI going. That entire basis makes this a working relationship.

they are updating people consistently. they are communicating. they don't cancel things same-day. the point I was trying to make is that life happens *without warning*. it's not like they can give us a week's notice that someone is planning on getting sick next week or have arranged to be in a car crash next month (not assuming anything, just thinking of examples). on another note, it's a bit hypocritical to say that you're not giving money with the expectation of a product, and then turn around and say this is a business... if you're giving money to support the people themselves, then it is personal...

I’m perfectly calm. I just think if you’re going to open your content up to be essentially crowdfunded, it’s your responsibility to communicate effectively with the people who are paying you money. I’ve already said before that I am not paying them money with the expectation of a product, I’m paying them because I want to support them. That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be updating people consistently. It’s nothing personal, it’s just business.

I really want to emphasize that I’m not trying to be rude. I’m truly grateful for everything the boys and the team are doing. I just feel like, at the end of the day, if you’re going to open your content up to be paid for by your viewers, you need to be open to communicating in a clear, concise, and timely manner. I’m simply trying to open dialogue to facilitate this communication.

I understand that “life happens.” Please refer to my original comment where I have already stated this. I am a grown adult as well as an artist myself, who also has a job and other responsibilities. I understand that juggling these sorts of things on top of everything else life throws at us is super hard. I empathize with them on this. I (once again) feel like I made it clear in my original comment that I’m very grateful for the team’s hard work in making JRWI the best it can be. I also feel the need to reiterate that I’m not just saying this because of this One Time. Once again, like I’ve said in my original comment, this isn’t the first time this has happened. Even in just these past few months (though I feel these problems have been getting steadily worse for the better part of this year), there have been countless times where they’ve randomly switched up on us without warning. This is a frustration that I (and from what I can assume from the comment above me and the likes on my original comment, several other people) have felt for a while now. This isn’t about what I’m “entitled” to, I understood from the start that I wasn’t owed anything. I’m paying them because I want to pay them, not because I want something out of it. All this to say, this isn’t just a Patreon thing. It’s about the lack of communication from the team as a whole, even for non-patrons.

To the people kinda freaking out: you have to understand this is not a tv show with a huge team behind it. It is people with lives other than this. I have no issue with the delay and this is coming from someone who patiently waited the 8 months in between prime defenders (again no issue). i’d agree with you if this was a streaming service or something, but it’s a patreon; the rules are just different. It’s an extremely small team of creators working on two really ambitious shows, so long as the content’s good i can’t blame them. plus it’s not like we don’t get what we pay for, we def do. my two cents

First I’m going to preface this by saying don’t worry about it!!! These things happen and you guys obviously want to be proud of your work before you put it out for us to see!!! Especially at such a crucial moment in the campaign!!! Your effort is seen and appreciated :) but at the same time, it feels like I’ve been telling myself “these things happen” more and more lately. This isn’t the first time we’ve gotten these sorts of last-minute changes in posting schedules and it feels like it’s gotten worse these past few months? I understand you guys are busy but it’s frustrating as a patron to not be getting adequate communication on these sorts of things. I refuse to believe you guys are so disorganized that you genuinely weren’t aware that the early access wouldn’t be ready for today. I feel like this could have been announced at least like yesterday, instead of the day the early access was supposed to be posted. Obviously we don’t know what’s going on with you or Tizen and Ikarus or anyone else on the team but it’s just frustrating from a communication standpoint. But as always don’t worry about it!!! Thank you for all the hard work you all do!!!
