The Four Pirate Lords

As is the pattern of the world of Mana, positions of power come in fours. The four Vice-Admirals of R.A.F.T. The Four Elders of the Undersea. The Four Pirate Lords of the Oversea. And perhaps... there is another yet to be told.

The Four Pirate Lords protect the freedom of choice that is a birthright of everyone born above the seas. The ability to determine the path of your life for yourself, and follow it to your heart's content, whether other's agree with it or not, clash with it or not, oppose it or join it. These are the pirate captains who have reached the peak of power, influence, or wealth, in the entire world. So much so that they are not easily opposed, so much so that they check each other, and check others who claim power & control like RAFT.

Rarely are pirates completely peaceful, or even lawful, and though the first four pirate lords created the pirate code, its realistically suggestion, to prevent complete disorder and lack of honor among thieves.

Captain Beau T. Rose was known for his peaceful approach to piracy. His love for connecting with people, for discovering secrets of the world. Those secrets were his treasure. He never cared for authority, or status, all it took to be his friend was a mutual respect. The legacy of the black rose inspired many, until it was washed down the hole in the sea.

Captain Shadowbeard was a masterful outlaw who was known for chasing the world's greatest wealth, and fighting often with any and all forms of oppressive governance. He had the largest pirate crew in the entire world, even claiming an entire island to give home to them, like a small society. In the world at large, he held the opposite image of Rose, most certainly not known for peace, but known for fear. 

The Dread Queen was known for not only being the most powerful woman in the world, but also became more like folklore or legend. Moments where she did extravagant things to gather notoriety were rare. People simply knew of her, and knew she was impossible to survive if encountered at sea. Sometimes, people often claimed she'd visit them in their dreams. Stealing some people's thoughts, or even people's minds entirely. There were crews formed entirely dedicated to finding her or carrying about her special quests they'd claim she gave them. Her complete lack of presence after the hole in the sea is one of the most worrying things for RAFT. 

And as for Captain Hendrix... known for sailing completely alone. Yet... what else? Perhaps despite his position of power, he didn't leave much of a mark.
