I just revisited this and I feel like I can give some spoilers now. Prem in the novel never forgot this. She was always super anxious thinking something could happen to Pat again etc etc. She lived her whole life in fear. I still don't understand why they did a redemption. The author, too like I would never write the ending like this. She should have cut them off. I think the author hates her own main character... And later Pat even helps them and gives them money from her own savings which she earned trough acting. In the novel Pat even left her acting career and started working in his father's company so she could look better and take care of Prem better, too. The only negative thing in this series is the redemption yes and it is making it bad...They should have changed the ending

2026-01-18 05:52:40 +0000 UTCEverything you said is SPOT ON. The way how I was LIVID when they redeemed Prem’s parents and not just her parents but her Friends too like excuse me!? I would have gotten a whole new close circle of friends and my new parents would have been Pats. 😒😤

2026-01-16 12:43:07 +0000 UTCI‘m not really sure why the writers changed the plot so significantly. In the novel, Pat’s “death“ was actually a ruse set up by Bow, Tan, and Sita. Their goal was for Prem‘s parents to suffer by watching their daughter slowly lose her will to live, in hopes that they‘ll end up accepting her for who she is, as well as letting her live life freely without their control. Prem was not brought in on the ruse because they needed it to look as convincing as possible to her parents. Listen, I‘m all for a good scheme, and although I understand the good intention, personally, it couldn‘t be me.

You watched the pilot, I think its amazing and both the main and side couple have amazing chemistry. I don’t think you would be dissapointed. It’s romcom but it is also a really nice RIVALS TO LOVERS story. I really recommend it

They lied about Pat and caused Prem to almost lose her mind or end her life. They’re evil and do not deserve any type of redemption.

2026-01-16 05:59:37 +0000 UTCFor other GLs i really hope to that we get more divers series. I can recommend queendom. Its has a similar feel to love design, like the romcom vibe. Petrichor is dark, hast a great stroy and acting is incredible. I personally really liked my safe zone because of the insane chemistry between the leads and i like best friends to lovers. But i have to admit it has its plot/writing issues. Yeah these are my favorites with clairebell and love design that aired the last few months 🤔

2026-01-15 20:37:17 +0000 UTCI agree with everything. Would have liked to see Nam redemtion with her going to therapy and changing for the better. I work in social psychiatric service and can really see Nam's struggles. She's not evil. She just needs professionell help. I don't want to say illnesses i think she could have because i am not a doctor but would have loved to see them adressing her struggles, maybe giving it a dignosis, explaining it and show that it can get better. I didn't like the redemtion of the parents. Wish the friends somehow went to prem, told her that pat is not dead and prem finally left her parents. It's so unrealistic that they have been so awful and homophobic and now they are nice and accept their daughter and don't control her anymore. I don't think so. Maybe after moths or years when prems mother left prems father she can have a bit of redemtion but not like this. And prem not being mad at them for lying about the love of her life being dead??? Like you said this kind of redemtion can give of the message that even the strongest homophopic parents will come around and everyone loves and accepts each other. Which is unfortunately not always the case. Would love to see in a GL that in a situation like this the child ends contact to their parents and has a good and happy life without them. Being happy with their girlfriend, her non-homophobic parents and her friends. Cuting of contact to parents doesn’t mean you will have a sad life. There are so many people who can love you. Also i don't think the friends knew that the parents told prem that Pat died. I think the parents just told them to not contect her anymore and for some reason they respect their wish. Still not okay but better than lying that pat died. Did not like this end. And yes them always wearing full glam and heals not matter where they are. Like a doctor would never dress like that at work.

They really messed up on the last episode… but I think it’s because the show is based on a book ( and apparently the book was actually way worse in terms of toxicity and red flags they really toned down the show ). And also there’s not that much to watch on the special episode, it’s basically just a bow and sita episode 😂 which I don’t mind but we did not really saw pat and prem that much. Now about show recommendation honestly I could recommend you runaway ( this is an horror gl and it’s pretty good the storyline is incredible You’re gonna love it! ) there is also player the series, I think the storyline is pretty interesting. You might like it as well. There is also queendom the series you watched the pilot a while ago and I’m telling you it’s one of the best shows from 2025 it’s really good! And there’s one who came out a year ago : petrichor with englot the production and the acting is incredible. You might check it out and finally there is also my safe zone from Channel 3 and all I can tell you is that the chemistry between the two actresses is incredible !
