News Update

Hey everyone,

I feel like it’s time to sit down and share what’s been going on.

Things have been pretty tough lately. My home life is solid, but family matters... well, they’ve been really hard. It’s taken a while for me to come to terms with my dad’s situation, kid-related challenges, and everything else. I know it’s affected my art and my presence here, and for that, I am truly sorry. I hope this update will help clear things up.

1) Small delay on Monthly
There is a delay on the monthly pic. I am sorry that the last few have come a little late, and endeavored to make sure this doesn't happen again. This pic will be released on Monday Night/Tuesday Midday at the latest.

2) My Dad's Recovery
My dad is doing much better after his stroke. His speech is still limited, but we can at least have conversations now, which feels like such a blessing. I was able to visit him over the summer, and I think it did us both a lot of good. He’s surrounded by family, receiving the care and attention he needs, but I just wish I could be there more often.

3) Delays and Commitment Issues
I know I’ve been late on a lot of projects, and that’s... well, it’s inexcusable. Now that the kids are back in school, I’ve been trying to fill my time with work, but unfortunately, it hasn’t always been work that you can see.

As you may have noticed, Faer and Sully’s comic has grown far beyond what I originally planned for a short comic. This realization hit me: I want this to be my next long-term project. So, after wrapping up the current arc, I’m going to officially launch a new, ongoing D&D-themed comic that follows their adventures over the next several years.

Honestly, this shift in focus has taken up so much of my headspace. I’ve been spending nights plotting out the story, reflecting on all your feedback from the Druids series—your likes, dislikes, critiques, the things you loved. I’m taking notes, researching, and trying to make this new story something truly special. However, it’s also meant I’ve been neglecting my current commitments, and for that, I sincerely apologize. I promise to work on balancing my planning time with creating the art you’ve been supporting me for.

4) Return to a Schedule
This experiment with an unscheduled approach just hasn’t worked out for me—it’s been more stressful than freeing. So, moving forward, I’m bringing back a structured release schedule. I’m setting up a site similar to how Druids was handled, where you’ll get to see the pages here first, followed by a delayed release for the public. I do ask that those of you with early access keep spoilers to yourselves, so everyone can enjoy the story fresh.

If I missed anything or if you have any questions, please reach out.

I know I’ve said similar things in the past, but I really believe I’ve worked through a lot of what was holding me back. Thank you so much for sticking with me through it all. I’m genuinely excited for what’s ahead, and I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on.

Thank you, truly.

Family comes first, no need to apologise for that. I'm happy to back whatever you choose whether it's a fixed or loose schedule. (And personally think a schedule is better, even if it's missed once in a while due to life) Also really happy Sully and Faer will get their own extended comic; they're an excellent pairing and dynamic. Something about them with the designs just works so well.

Hey, having family in recovery is stressful and the fact you could provide in the first place shows great commitment from you. I don't think anyone will complain that a whole D&D based comic featuring these two awesome characters spawned from what was supposed to be a short nsfw comic. I look forward to seeing more of them and more of your work in general when you're ready for it. But family and life always should come first.

My wife always tells me to keep things brief, or I can go on forever. In the same breath, I'm told by her and others that I write well. So... What am I to do with this? Your family could and always should come first. No ifs, ands, or buts. We pay, yes, but we are here because we enjoy your work. Not because we are task masters or bosses. You have drawn us to you (pun... Well, ORIGINALLY not intended but now it suits me, so... Intended) with your work and here we remain because it has captivated us so. We will wait, because your work and your presence are worth that wait. Especially in this day and age, such joys and escapes are much needed, and we appreciate all that you do for us, often at some expense to yourself. Please do not apologize for delays or postponements. We understand, I promise, and will be here when you are ready. And any who would be more than passingly impatient should by and large be ignored. Your priorities sound generally like you have them straight, and none should fault you for putting your family first. I'm glad that your father is recovering steadily and seems on a good trajectory. It's my hope that you will have many more years and joys to share. I look forward to each post and, now, a new project to liven things up in the feed. Whether daily, weekly, monthly, whenever... Do as you need, and as you can, and there will be those of us here always to cheer you on and offer what support we can. Thank you for all you do in sharing your gift with us!

First of all, your father's recovery is of course one of your highest priorities and I'm glad he's better. No one with a heart would say otherwise. As for your new long-term project, I'm excited even though I hardly know anything about D&D. xD I really like Faer and especially Sully and think it's great that we can now see more of their adventures. I found Druids and Sky Lords very entertaining and well drawn even though Sky Lords was unfortunately not finished. Nevertheless, I really liked Zuriel and her character. :) The fact that this new D&D comic will be shown to the public later is fine with me. We get other things like monthly pictures and can vote. You also have to show something in public to make new people aware of your work. What has bothered me a bit in the last few months is the selection of characters in the monthly pictures. It seems to me that the main focus is usually on the main characters in the comics and supporting characters or even completely new characters hardly stand a chance. I'm not saying that Faer shouldn't appear twice in a voting list, but if you look at today's monthly pictures and compare them with those from back then, you can see that it used to be more varied with characters, creatures and themes in the pictures. Not always, but more often and especially unusual ones like random dragons, WoW mounts and so on. But on the whole, I'm happy with what's being given here, even if it sometimes takes a while, but it doesn't bother me as long as you get what you're promised. Thanks for the update and I hope you find a pleasant way to continue creating your work. :D
