That dr pepper commercial was so ahead of its time. How cleaver

Storm chaser Jay

The Regal Bumper is better than the AMC Bumper sorry I don't make the rules

Vegan Police

I can’t believe they didn’t talk about AMC popcorn guy https://v.redd.it/adivivx0vzx01

chicken of the land

I just came to the comments to say that! Which David really should know, as many TIFF venues are Cineplex joints.

Carol

*Main feed comment A Blank Check History of Cinema episode would be amazing!!! I could listen to History professors Sims & Newman Talk about history for a few hours easily.

Harrison Stanley

I'm a bit ashamed but...Somehow the Europa Cinemas one makes me happy every time! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAvSkJ8u5k4 The banging tune, the looking out for your city's name and feeling excited when it shows up. Any other EuroBlankies feeling this?

Daniel Kilander

Was really hoping "Don't be a...sally seatkicker" or "Colonel Kernel" made an appearance, but maybe Talking Fanfare International one day...

Theo Gibb

Cineplex is alive and well in Canada!

Marty TC (child-sized Cardassian)

I was so frustrated while listening that no one recognized Leighton Meester playing the girl in the Loews "First Date" video and then SO happy that Esther represented for Gossip Girl fans!

Caroline O'Shea

As someone who worked at a cinemark for YEARS the Front Row Joe disrespect hurts.

Morgan Linson

Great episode, despite the glaring omission of the Wehrenberg Theater intro. Whispering that word is the surefire way to test if your friend is from either St Louis or Rochester, MN.

Nathan Hall

Is it possible that the reason both restricted cards feature cats because Fritz the Cat was the first X Rated Animated feature? Seems like I'm grasping at straws.

Sean C.

the biggest (non-political) bummer of living in Iowa since the pandemic has been the lack of AMCs in the state and therefore my never having seen "heartbreak feels good in a place like this" live

fartinscorcese

Now that the London Bit is over, is this a safe place to talk about the inexplicably stilted Johnny Flynn Cineworld Unlimited ad where he looks he's forced to do this ad at gunpoint https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fehxnXHi-YM

YiningS

This pod made me go to my building's lobby and buy a coke so mission accomplished?

GrrNoise

Y’all missed one of the actors from the “first date” ad, the concessions stand guy is Mr. Reese from The Dark Knight. Also that horrible Regal quotes piece was filmed at the theatre up the street from me. It’s surreal every time I watch it in the location it takes place.

Zach

Wow Arclight erasure (I know they’re New York boys I just worked at the only east coast one and miss it)

Colleen Gaw

5 million comedy points for David remembering the exact name and referencing Worker and Parasite.

Michael Kolodziej

I was totally unprepared for how emotional the original Regal Cinemas roller coaster sting would make me. After college, living in Atlanta, the Regal Hollywood on the I-85 access road was like a second home and that leader is a sense memory as strong as some from really early childhood... that weird animation is in my bones, down to the specific intense sound of the flashing NO SMOKING sign and the exact millisecond that big kernel goes pop.

Kerry Benton

I'm Canadian so I've still never seen it! XD

Marty TC (child-sized Cardassian)

movie starts at......????

Jack o Diamonds

I trust everyone saw the secret smuggled into the 1972 logo: the C and P of Check Pictures, the H of the crossed latitude and longitude lines in the globe, and the I afterward. Chip Smith has been manipulating the fates of Hashtag the Two Friends for some time...

Benjamin Russell

It’s in the playlist

AJ McKeon

Need to see the Ben ad

Antho

Will there be a video version of this one as well, like Fanfare part 1& 2?

Jaclyn McKewan

There was a minute when I thought this episode would end without featuring the AMC/Nicole Kidman ad and I was gonna riot. I should have never doubted, the payoff was exquisite, even only in audio form.

Chuck Nipper

PSA: Two of the clips (Kerasotes covid message and Frankie & the Frogs) are missing from the YT playlist, but links to them are on the episode notes. (They're marked "YouTube for kids" and can't be places on a playlist.)

Mikko Viinikka

i'm so excited i can barely fan my fare

Jordan B. Anderson

Such a great show. I'm so glad Ben gave us a better war cry and so interested to see how that translates on the episode. Definitely worth the less than 48 hour trip to New York hahaha
