Here is a look at the franchises still in the running as we reach the Elite Eight:
Up today - OCEAN’S vs. TURTLES.
“Finding Nemo” taught us that you can find Turtles in the Ocean, but these Turtles probably feel more comfortable in the city sewers. Also these Oceans aren’t wet per se, even though they’re slick.
ANYWAY.
With the Ocean's franchise, we'd get 5 films:
- Ocean's 11 (1960)
- Ocean's Eleven (2001)
- Ocean's Twelve (2004)
- Ocean's Thirteen (2007)
- Ocean's 8 (2018)
With TMNT, we’d do 6 films - the original live action ones, the Michael Bay-produced reboots, and the animated feature:

The votes went for Scorpion King but because most of the comments were loudly supportive of Body Bags instead they talked about it for most of the episode (and said the reason was because of the loudness of the comments)

The farm house sequence alone is better than anything in Oceans. I am all for Soderbergh miniseries but the Oceans movies are the least Soderbergh of Soderbergh. If they did an actual miniseries I would probably skip all the Ocean’s movies except the first one. The Turtles movies open up discussions about adapting a work, fan bases, parents and censorship, and how different creative teams see the same characters. It is just a much more interesting commentary option.

The original films are wacky, but that doesn’t always translate to the best commentary, as they are bad movies with not a lot of context in terms of greater filmmaking culture. If I’m voting for a commentary that is pretty much just a meme, I’m going Jelly every day. What are they going to talk about? Soderbergh, all day! A miniseries isn’t coming anytime soon and this is the most realistic way for discussion on the one of the weirdest mainstream filmmakers working today. The idea of Soderbergh, a classic blank check director, discussions should not be undervalued.

Turtles has never had as boring or bad of a movie as Oceans 12. I feel like all the Turtles movies will make way more interesting commentaries then anything Oceans. What are they going to talk about… the performances are the exact same across all the movies and they all have the same basic plot.
