Thank you for one of the sweatiest episodes of all time

Andrew Dorschner

Release the Hosley Cut.

Sean Mackin

JD is incredible in every episode

Eric Carey

“He had a diaper full of coffee earlier, so he’s full.” Thats the hardest I’ve laughed in a month at a complete throwaway joke. Thank you, J.D.

Ryan Staples

I can't wait for Sleepy Sleep Sleep

Sherri Locker

This is so good, I freaking love the real talk

Sherri Locker

You guys coulda done an ep on the great pseudo-doc Apollo 11 which is all 70 mil footage of the moon landing. Woulda served the same purpose lol

Jackson Rogers

“I’m just trying to see where else they go.” - amazing joke, Ben

Nolan Beattie

avant garde

Thalia Castro

While I enjoyed this episode, you could really feel the studio interference and I'm just thinking there must be a cut that's about 15 minutes longer that ties it all together.

David Dein

I am completely against the idea of Tall-King the Walk, what does that have to do with movies? But how about this for 2023: Talking the Walk(en) A Christopher Walken Retrospective.

Vegan Police

Good one, boys

Jenny Potter

This introduction is something else

Daniel Citron

Sims’s delivery re: Westbrook was hilariously genial, the most genial delivery possible for Westbrook discourse

Rad Rodge

This is pretty spectacular

On the subject of For All Mankind, does anyone remember if any particular critic or writer is the one who made the joke of “Russians on the moon” to the tune of Riders on the Storm? This is haunting me now, it seems like totally a Sepinwall bit yet I cannot find evidence this comes from him. Helplessly mumbling “Russians on the moon” to myself now

Rad Rodge

I also use my spreadmaster spatula all the time. It’s a genuinely good spatula.

Dana Hamstra

This was good. Don't worry about boosting a decades-old conspiracy. Adam Ruins Everything already covered the technical side of debunking and JD did a fantastic job of covering why Kubrick personally wouldn't have touched it. Re: 2023, please please don't cover "Walk This Way". Aerosmith was terminal and it took a huge misstep from Run DMC at the height of their prowess to bring them back. Instead... Pod Cast Walking. You haven't covered any Penn, and there's not much reason to cover Robins as a director.

Sean Hogan

Scorsese in the 90s and 00s wins March Madness, next year Talking the Broadwalk Empire.

Norman Normalperson

toking the wok 2023 - a quasi-oops all lunch orders episode where you discuss meals from movies you’ve covered. burn the ask and get babish involved!

Douglas

I had just finished listened to the 2021 Talking the Walk when this dropped. What a creation this is

Matthew O'Reilly

I am so excited for Ben's new podcast

Jordan Gibson

Outstanding

The parts where I absolutely lost it (non-sleep-podcast edition) were: Griffin: "The Try Guys Try the Moon" David: *a refusal to engage so forceful that it briefly becomes audible* and "Thanks for not asking me another question about Russell Westbrook!"

Douglas Wykstra

*Who’s

brady reichert

What’s the next director they’re doing?

brady reichert

Absolutely lost it at Ben's podcast reveal. My partner had to come check on me.

Adam Butterworth

Did he wish you a hearty “Hello Fennell?”

Kenny Madison

Somewhat surprised that they didn’t bring up that Corridor Crew (whom Griffin has previously brought up) did a comparison of the Apollo 11 documentary vs Kubrick’s 2001 imagined moon/space travel.

MoCoSwede

I don't think there's a Selick Patreon ep, right? So I just want to share 1 story. I was teaching a college course and the class was doing first-day intros, and one student shared that she was proud to be a grandmother to a new granddaughter named Coraline, so named because their whole family is big fans of Tim Burton. I knew not to say, "This child is forever named after a misunderstanding," but I did say something like, "I don't know if he actually directed that one, but I definitely see the similarities and Coraline is a great movie." And she looked at me very stone-faced and said, "No, he directed it." Godspeed out there, Coraline.

Mike Ostrov

I appreciate that one of JD’s directed hoax examples was “Balloon Boy,” a legitimate hoax.

Donald W Pratt

What about Paul King The Wonk where you walk to a screening of Wonka?

Nate Shu

This sleep podcast better be real. I’m currently falling asleep to old episodes of Blank Check so it’d be nice to keep it in the family 2023.

Erin Shaw

Sleepy sleep sleep when

Alexander Parker

I’m half-way through. I’m tuning in and out. And this is the most deliriously, joyously insane thing I’ve ever heard in a podcast.

John Halski

Coffee diaper is good

Matthew O'Reilly

This episode dropping and the Artemis I dropping into the ocean on the same day.... A confession by JD Amato? ..

zack albun

Pro tip: the moon landing commentary also works over The Great Silence playing on Criterion channel.

Bluvbot

Next year: Talking Paul King. An episode for each movie plus one on his work on tv series (some of which are shot close to Dislington) all with JD as the guest!

Jeremy Kozeluh

This. This is why I'm a Patreon

Jordan Gibson

I was an extra in a scene with griffin once.

Kevin Fennell

You know what's a weird conspiracy report? Burgers look like diapers when you wrap them up.

Casey Dominguez

Griffin keep dunking on them but I like the Try Guys.

Joshua Ochoa

Nothing has made me happier than “sleepy sleep sleep”

Akhil Akhil

We all know that the moon landing is real and when the footage cut Buzz and Neil went and discovered that there were transformers on the moon

Ricky Bardy

Truly deranged.

Jonathan Self

Absolutely unhinged. I'm imagining the full episode and I'm weeping from how those harmonic rainbows are hitting my ears. I'm glad the perfection couldn't unsettle my understanding of how other podcasts operate.
