The closest thing to the type of character Hamm is playing in this is Paul Newman in Slap Shot. Watch Reg Dunlop try so hard to bluff his way through impossible circumstances while the world crumbles around him with sheer force of charisma -- and then it's still not enough.

Calculon IV

The casual glossing over of NO SUDDEN MOVE is wild. Hamm is so great in that movie. And the movie itself rules.

The Clooney comparison is interesting - I’d argue ER’s Doug Ross was Clooney playing himself, or at least the Clooney persona, whereas Don Draper was very much not Jon Hamm Adored this film, love that you all did too, hope we get more of these

The Mad Jay Woman

I need footage of Ben reacting to Affleck saying “coke and Xbox”

Rad Rodge

Are there spoilers in this ep? Would it even matter?

If you're done NewsRadio, I think it's worth checking out the audio commentaries. Some interesting stuff, especially on the first couple seasons.

Oh, Fletsch

Cody F. Schmidt

I'm sorry did Ben say he's NEVER SEEN THE TOWN? The Town is full of scum bums!!!

Ross

Thought Confess, Fletch was so much fun and I too want more. And yeah, I totally winced at the Miramax logo popping up. On covering 3D films for Special Features as commentary, how is 3D for reading closed captioning?

Graig Kent

Good movie, great episode. ❤️

I also really enjoy tag.

Kevin Fennell

Hamm is honestly funniest on Doug Loves Movies which is why I was fairly confident he could do this, and I really enjoyed this movie.

Eugene Mirman lives in Somerville, MA, so I wouldn't be surprised if they threw him in just because he wasn't doing anything that day.

Nate Shu

The first Under Siege though - pretty good!

Filip Boratyn

Totally agree with Griff about this movie almost being perfect for streaming. I loved being able to see this in the theater but I really wish this was opening on Netflix next week. Has the effortless movie star charm and the light but satisfying plot that all these streaming adult comedies WISHED they had.
