Me incorrectly shouting at my phone as they’re debating what figure Ben got at the end: “It’s Atomic Skull! You got Atomic Skull! Why would they ever make a Blight??” But turns out they did in fact make a Blight. Crazy stuff.

Timothy Wilson

THE OA MENTIONED!

John Paul

Thats an all timer

Owen Phillips

LEGO SMOKIN’ WEED!

Ginger’s Boyfriend Matt

First time actually synching pod to movie! Kinda fun!!! Movie rips obvs

sheabobay

Please review Batman Beyond Return of The Joker next. People love Phantasm but thats the best Batman Animated Movie.

Re: Ben's Robin idea, a tabletop RPG podcast I listen to had a joke where a couple of thugs who want to rob a truck decide to call themselves Robbin' and The Bat Man (who is armed with a baseball bat, natch)

Begemott

Executive producer Steven Mnuchin??????

Data Janitor

Controversial take I have is that the Lego Ninjago movie is pretty good. I would place it third out of all the Lego movies. You should watch the rest!

Scott Sawtell

Heya, also, anyone surprised to see former Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin's name in the credits? (Apparently among all his other ethics disasters I had forgotten that he endorsed Lego Batman, which is pretty tame for a member of the Trump cabinet.)

Benjamin Blattberg

Please do the 2 Lego movies!! They’re fun and Ben is going to love them. Plus it is about a Master Builder -it’s poetry. Come in!!

Danh Nguyen

YMMV, but my 5yo doesn't know enough about Batman and the movie was a little frantic, so we didn't finish it. (For comparison, he loved the Lego Movie.)

Benjamin Blattberg

Get Ben the lego typewriter. He'll look so fancy with that in the Hausoleum

Bonesaw Greene

I'd pay good money for an algorithm ruining Secrets of Dumbledore commentary

Will McLaren

Give LEGO MOVIE 2 another shot. It has only grown on me with time. And it kills me that we haven’t gotten another LEGO movie since then. Imagine if that team was able to give the MCU the same treatment they gave Batman. Just imagine…

John Halski

"If you're wondering why this podcast is 5 hours, it's because we decided to [also do an off-the-cuff commentary on The Secrets of Dumbledore]" Don't threaten me with a good time.

Douglas Wykstra

So...bonus Lego Movie commentary?

Tanner Randall

Avoiding another Depp-heavy filmography?

Mike Ostrov

Oblique reference to maybe never doing Verbinski. Why is that? Is he a piece of shit and I haven't found out yet?

Zach Terrell

The George Michael and Maebe scenes are the only good parts of the Netflix Arrested Developments.

Mike Ostrov

Dave and Richard are the BEST! They totally won Lego Masters in my heart

Nicole Paschen

Also, I believe the Chip N' Dale script was like, 10 years old which is why I overlooked the meta humour of it all. Totally feel that humour wearing out its welcome (Thor...) but C&D was so damn fun it worked for me!

Sarah Farrell

What a delight! Had I known there was a throwaway joke about Serendipity (2001), I would have seen this opening night.

Sarah Farrell

Man I even played the Lego Rock Raiders RTS on the PC hahaha, I was 10 years old and could still be easily impressed by just seeing all these cool Lego buildings assemble themselves but you really never got to do anything particularly cool with the vehicles. Suboptimal

Rad Rodge

Not to be a pill, but why no mp3? I prefer to download to my phone because I rude the subway (no service underground)

I worked in a bookstore in Northern California when Scott Pilgrim came out and it's a coastal college town so one day that summer Michael Cera came to town with his band. He came in and he bought a complete set of Scott Pilgrim books and signed a copy for one of my co-workers. He was super nice but he had this group of about 7 to 10 teenage girls who were following him around town all day, about a 100-200ft distance but anytime he went somewhere this group of teenage girls wouldn't be far behind. He was obviously a bit weirded out by it and it always stuck with me how weird that must of been for him.

daniel newfield

Michael Cera: "...a lovely guy..." Will Arnett: "...so fricken nice..." Bottom line: Canadian?

Graig Kent

Smartless is a good podcast. I’ve read some complaints where “it’s just these people telling each other how great they all are”, especially after the excellent Bradley Cooper episode.

Holly Catlin-Meyer

Gentle correction that Grant Morrison uses they/them pronouns :-)

LS

It's that kinda movie!

Daniel A. Barron

Ben's joy during this has a healing energy
