Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - The Lost Episode (Remastered) (Ad-Free)
Added 2022-07-01 04:01:27 +0000 UTCBack in March of 2016 when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was first released in theaters, Griffin, David, and Ben recorded a one-off episode about the film. Due to technical issues, much of the audio was lost.
An abridged version was released April 22, 2016.
Here is the newly remastered "Ultimate edition" of the lost episode. This Patreon exclusive sneak peak includes 36 minutes of never before released material!

David is punchier than a 4DX chair here and I love it. So interesting to listen to this now knowing how the DCEU actually shook out over the years

2022-07-03 16:15:00 +0000 UTCSide Note, Bob Chipman (Critic and Boston Blowhard) has a similar point on the Martha thing where if you sit down and write out the thematic elements, it's really good, they just chose the dumbest way to articulate it.

2022-07-03 02:46:52 +0000 UTCI got to go to the NYC Premiere of BvS because my friend Sarah had an extra ticket. I remember a few big things. 1) The Cast of both BvS and Suicide squad were there to do a little "Go on stage" moment, and Will Smith went into the rows of seats to do autographs while everyone else walked off (a genuinely cool thing from him). 2) It was DEAD silent the entire movie, save for when Wonder Woman appears in costume for the first time (I could never decide if it was obligatory or if people were actually fired up). 3) We got out of the theater, and there were rows of people cheering and taking photos. It was genuinely overwhelming to go from that sensory overload of a film that somehow was worse than I could have expected where everyone was quiet to all these fans genuinely excited to see it soon. Me and Sarah walked down 5th for a little while, and she just blurts out "That, sucked, right?" and I just go "Oh thank god you think that, I wasn't saying anything I wasn't sure what you thought and didn't want to start drama!" Genuinely one of my favorite nights.

2022-07-03 01:57:49 +0000 UTCCan yall create a sound bite of David saying “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole”? That’d be the best notification noise.

2022-07-02 20:45:50 +0000 UTCI reacted to the old version of the theme song the way Feige wanted me to react to the sting from the X-Men animated series

2022-07-02 15:38:03 +0000 UTCThe fact that Zack Snyder is a “nice” Objectivist is probably the simultaneously most interesting and least interesting thing about every project he makes. It’s like, Marvel does everything they can to pry and crowbar everything of even the simplest political ideology out of their stories and characters as they can, and at least Snyder is trying. That’s the only defense I’ve been able to dredge up. Also. Maybe TMI, but I’m a heteroflexible guy and Henry Cavill as Superman just really does it for me. Everything about how he wears and fills out the suit to the way he plays Clark Kent as that quiet University of Arkansas alum who grew up in a legacy house but discovered Radiohead in HS (I’m kidding) really does it for me. Hella specific I know.

2022-07-02 06:26:21 +0000 UTCAlso, why has no one other than Grant Morrison understood that the way to make Superman work is to emphasize the high concept and goofy Silver-age material, but with a straight face. Going darker and more violent is the exact opposite of what you should do.

2022-07-02 06:04:12 +0000 UTCThe biggest problem with Snyder movies is that you can never get over the fact that you're watching something fundamentally unhealthy. Just like most fascist art.

2022-07-02 05:47:44 +0000 UTCI'm looking forward to the 90 min doc detailing the way they resurrected the missing audio to salvage 36 extra mins. Also, I'm curious...so if we now have 77 surviving mins, how much total time did they spend recording this original ep? I know this was back in the the golden years when it wasn't unusual to post a sub-2 hr ep, but they sounded so gassed at the end...I know the movie was dogshit, but these days they have much more stamina to dunk on a bad movie.

2022-07-01 15:31:26 +0000 UTCI feel like they are discussing the movie they wish it was, rather than the movie it is.
