I think the less unique something is the tighter it has to be and the more unique has a lot more space to breath as there is good in the original in and of itself. Every detail in their original world has value. It’s a sci fi epic so at that point it kinda has to be long

I've always hated this movie and had the opinion that theres a combined edit of these movies that makes a, whiile long, a kickass movie rather than the two parter disjointed mess that these movies' were. I like probably 70% of each and the extra kind of drags it all down. you guys were talking about the response to this one vs the previous and I remember that exactly, a solid conclusion to the second film would have rendered the third one to the shadow-realm like SW E01. someone who chops these two into a coherent 3 hour movie without all the BS will be a hero for the ages.

Iron Man is Favs best film, or Zuthura.

Hearing David talk about Animorphs always makes me happy.

Steven Ray Morris

Hearing David enjoy this movie really reminded me how I felt as a kid watching this on a 4:3 vacuum tube television an inch away from the screen.

Nobody Special

Seraph is a login screen. Thank you.

Can someone PLEASE tell David that Lachy Hulme’s first name is pronounced like ‘Lock-ee’, not ‘Lotch-ee’. Thank you.

I think this is the most they’ve discussed Lord of the Rings on the podcast, which I appreciate. I bet (coughs) a Jackson series (coughs) would be (coughs) very good!!! (coughs, hacks up blood)

Ben, I wanna try to answer your question, but with the understanding that this movie is kinda about why you have to interpret things yourself instead of listening to bozos on the internet. The Matrix - Neo learns that the world he thinks is real is actually a giant form of control and enslavement. At the end of the movie he reaches "enlightenment" by breaking free of that singular system. The Matrix: Reloaded - Neo learns that him breaking free of the Matrix, the myth of The One, Zion, the revolution, and everything else in his new life is ALSO a form of control. The Matrix: Revolutions - Neo is now confronted with the knowledge that there is no such thing as being truly free from the thought-systems that guide the way we think and behave. Unlike Neo, Smith has never learned the lesson from Reloaded. Smith thinks that he is "enlightened". He thinks he has found the one singular answer. And thus he decides to make it all about him and literally project his own ego onto everyone else. Neo on the other hand, much like another famous Keanu character, recognizes that the only true knowledge is to know that he knows nothing. He cannot rely on prophecy or ideology to save Zion. He has to find his own version of the Truth. By making a peace agreement with the machines, he breaks out of another "matrix" that has been assumed throughout all three movies: that humans and machines cannot coexist. By questioning this, Neo is able to make that impossibility a reality. So what is the takeaway to your everyday life? Don't get cocky, kid. The moment you think you have everything figured out is the moment you lose it all. We need to make assumptions about the world in order to live our daily lives and not go insane. But we cannot delude ourselves into thinking we are always right. Always ask yourself if you can be kinder to the people around you. Always ask yourself if the life you are living is the life you wanna live.

My suggestion for a PRACTICAL Oops All Lunch Orders episode: Take an ambisonic microphone to a lunch spot, get a booth, and interact over drinks/sandwiches

Zach Terrell

The best part about the Path of Neo version of the ending is how they play “We Are the Champions” over footage of people in Zion celebrating, accentuating the silly energy of the ending even more.

Edwin Davies

Armored Personnel Unit, or APC for short.

Data Janitor

Not sure how I feel about the BANE slander. I thought that guy did a great Weaving impression!

Ian Smart

Ray Mainsbridge

Lotta pre Oscar Jada talk lol

William Evans

P.S. I own the Matrix bear and I named him Sidney Poitier.

Only halfway through but I gotta say, little harsh on the guy who played Bane lol. Think he’s doing solid enough work

Cameron Taylor

Only halfway through but I love the Lego Masters/Esther Zuckerman crossover talk. I recently saw the Waterworld stunt show for the first time, her article on Thrillist covering the subject is a fantastic read.

fluff_diva

Griffin and David still having the Mary Alice fight six years later and Ben saying the Oracle should be a talking dog is this podcast in a nutshell

Josh

needs an extended orgy scene

Sweet! Thanks!
