Someone's Watching Me!
Added 2021-09-11 04:01:01 +0000 UTCFor September's bonus ep, Griffin, David, and Ben discussed the TV movie Someone's Watching Me! directed by John Carpenter. Topics include: how this project influenced the making of Halloween, programming competition when NBC aired SWM! at 9:00pm on November 29th, 1978, Uncle Leo as Burly Man, the Obi-Wan Kenobi ploy, the filmography of Garry Marshall and more!

a little sad we're not going to hear a discussion of Body Bags after the Christine episode talk surrounding figures like King and Hitchcock regarding their marketing presence. Carpenter is so good in it

2021-09-22 14:47:56 +0000 UTCI'm so glad Griffin discussed Science Court. A scene of that show discussing how black absorbs all light and determining someone's guilt has been stuck in my memory for years and forgot the source!

2021-09-16 18:38:14 +0000 UTCI wonder if the audio on that came out so garbagey it wasn't even worth putting out as a goof. Or was it always a goof.

2021-09-12 16:25:57 +0000 UTCThree’s Company also aired on The early WB pre CW channel and I distinctly remember a day where three’s programming block made way for Sailor Moon.

2021-09-12 14:39:07 +0000 UTCMillennial Three’s Company fan reporting for duty! Nick @ Nite from the years of 2000-2002 apparently had sublime programming. As an 8 year old I got exposed to Three’s Company, Diff’rent Strokes, Facts of Life and Brady Bunch. I enjoyed these shows waay more than any of the sitcoms aimed at kids my age. These shows are colorful and zany and helped aid me in my feeling of connecting to the mysterious larger world of the adults.

2021-09-11 22:12:22 +0000 UTCJust a heads up from a kid who was watching at the time: 8 is Enough wasn't a sitcom, it was a dramedy, at best. What's really interesting about this particular year is John Ritter going from playing the Parson on the Waltons to playing a straight pretending to be gay on Three's Company.

2021-09-11 22:01:38 +0000 UTCThat happens to me a lot on this feed, I sometimes they forget that not all of the bonus episodes are commentaries. I like the non-commentary eps though!

2021-09-11 10:45:24 +0000 UTCGlad to hear Griffin is watching The Puppet Masters. I got into those during quarantine and kept thinking it was a very Griffin friendly franchise... at least until it gets very Nazi heavy.
