The Host

For this month’s bonus ep Griffin, David, and Ben reviewed the 2013 film, The Host, adapted from the Stephenie Meyer novel. They are very sorry.

Comments

Going back through these but it's hilarious that this dirtbag producer wanted to make a "Hungry, Hungry Hippo" movie and "After Party" uses that concept for a movie as an extended joke.

Diana Tedone

I need an Elizabethtown BluRay rewatch. The most entertaining parts are when David realizes how much he hates it, would love a reprise! #IrateDavid

Erin

So happy to have closure on Ben riding a dang horse. Shout out Butterscotch

Michael Hashizume

A shouting match over who was more active on early 2000s Oscars boards is peak Griffin & David

Jenny Potter

I watched Clifford last night and I viewed it as a two for one special!

John Maddox

The Oscars-related dust up Griffin and David get into was too fun not to give a shout out on here

Jeremy Jones

There’s a full DVD rip of this film with Romanian subtitles on YouTube that I started watching, but sometimes I’ll dual-task my viewing with the podcast, which quickly put an end to my attempt at finishing the film. Alas, I’ll finally sit down and watch Clifford, which will be like getting 2 episodes for the price of one now that my quest for context will be complete.

Philip Ehlke

Most importantly they get into at the end how wild it is that two of the best shows on TV are on Apple+, a fact I have been thinking about ever since watching Mythic Quest and Ted Lasso

Matthew

I forgive you.

Ray

I’m surprised David (noted Animorphs Fan) didnt also immediately assume this was an Animorphs/Yeerk movie.

Bethany

I really enjoyed the book. It does have some issues, but I like the rest of it enough to re-read it once in a while.

Rebekah Hickman

Okay, having not watched the Twilight Movies, just watching a little bit of this via the discord and on streaming, I think this is a hilarious movie to laugh at akin to The Happening. I missed how much you guys could have talked about how truly magnificent in problematic this is compared to Twilight for the "love triangle" as this is a story about someone possessing a body and becoming romantically involved with someone while the person possessed is conscious.

Olympian Comics

I don’t mean to be a prick but you could’ve done RED RIDING HOOD (Catherine Hardwicke’s follow up to TWILIGHT which tries for the same thing) or STEP UP (TWILIGHT SAGA screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg’s first big screenplay).

William Evans

I just wanna say that I for one would love an Andrew Niccol miniseries

Olivia Haidar

I have NEVER heard of this movie, very excited for the episode

Begemott

Every time someone says The Lovely Bones is Saorise Ronan's worst film I just point them to his abomination. It's one of the worst films of the 2010's, and quite possibly the worst film I've ever seen in a theater

James

“I WAS LURKING!!” 👀

Manish Agarwal

I’m hearing a lot of apologizing and nothing about kissing. #JusticeForWanda

Cud Nylon

ooh sheet, we gonna get down tonight

Jordan B. Anderson

i told my freshman year english teacher that this was my favorite book and he laughed in my face. i didn’t understand why until i watched the movie. holy shit.

Natalie Hull

I watched this in theaters and fell asleep for about 20 minutes in it. I didn't remember the plotline, all I remember was the visceral disdain I felt for this movie. I'm glad I wasn't alone. Thank you.

Jacob Bowman

Don’t be sorry guys, I mean, this movie can’t be as bad as Crocodile Dundee 2. From that perspective, you have nothing to worry about.

Jacob Dominguez

It’s on Hulu so I know what I’m watching next
