激しい拷問が続くが…
Intense torture ensues...

朝から何時間も鞭や棒で引っ叩かれ、少女の白い肌には全身にミミズ腫れができていった。
皮膚は破れ血が溢れ出し、痣は青や紫に変色している。
それでも少女は耐え続けていた。
昼も過ぎた頃、拷問官は彼女に休息を与えることにした。
自分たちの食事と休憩のついでに少女にも水を与える。
彼らの目的はもちろん彼女を休ませることではない。
それは少しでも体力を回復させ苦痛を長引かせるため、そしてもう一つ狙いがあった。
少女は疲弊しきった全身の痛みや、打撲による激痛と傷口の燃え上がるような熱に苦しんでいた。
だが休息を得たことによってそれらの苦痛をも凌駕するものに襲われていた。
睡魔である。
少女は逮捕され身体検査や尋問を受けてから今までほとんどまともに寝ていない。
過酷な責めから解放された途端に強烈な眠気が彼女を襲う。
こんな状況でも眠りは少女の意識を奪ってしまう。
それこそが拷問官の狙いだった。

Her skin was torn and blood was pouring out, and the bruises were turning blue and purple.
Still, the girl continued to endure.
When it was past noon, the torturers decided to give her a break.

Sleep.
The girl had hardly slept at all since her arrest, physical examination, and interrogation.
As soon as she was released from the harsh torture, a strong feeling of sleep attacked her.
Even under such circumstances, sleep deprives the girl of consciousness.
That was the torturer's goal.
