I think Seongmin is playing the game correctly, taking a chance to get close to everyone he's attracted to and seeing if their personalities mesh well. I do think Hwi is his best fit, but I don't think we can blame him for checking out all his options. I also feel like age gap relationships are far more problematic for the older person; the fear that the younger person will not be serious about the relationship is very real. If they date you for a few years and then leave, they're still young enough to find someone else, and meanwhile your eligibility has gone down! I fully understand why someone like Seongmin who is at the age where you look at seriously settling down is wary about their long term prospects with an infatuated 22 year old.
