2023-06-20 22:47:07 +0000 UTCI think GaGa has "Our Dinig Table Spin-off" or something like that. This show is my first time reading the source material before watching the BL .Super-psyched. One thing that worried me though... thet say in the synopsis that they get their start in junior high. Surely they won&t be showing physical stuff between two 14 year olds? (The actors are both 14/)On the bright side, Japan changed the age of consent from 13 to 16, the day this dropped, so probably not, right? The Kazuma actor is Yuki Sakurai from Gekidan Exile. Exile is a group that started in singing, but now has its hands in everyhthing to do with entertainment. Gekidan is the theatre side. The Ren actor is Aloha Takamatsu. He is from the boyband Chotokkyu. In Japan, about half of BL leads are from boybands. Their age should be 23-24. They have not seen each other since junior high, second year. The name change is a mystery to Kazoma too. But on culture note, Japan has more adult male adoptions than any other country, so that is a possibility. Also, in Japa, it is possible for a man to take the wife's name. This sometimes happens because the woman has a famous last name. Like if the only daughter of the Toyoda family (of Toyota cars) got married, her husband would probably take er name. This sort of boss is so common in Japanese drama - throws their subordinates under the bus sooo quick. I feel like if you hit or kick stuff around the office, in the West, you would get sued, but it happens here. I don't think Ren is drunk on the rooftop. Bacause people in Japanese society can't say what they really want, sometimes they will use drinking parties to live out their desires/ Even if they did not drink. I feel like Ren wanted to touch Kazuma but needed alcohol to hide behind. (Aside - Did you catch it? The lady showing Kazuma around is Naho-chan, Hira's cousin from My Beautiful Man.)

2023-06-20 17:40:45 +0000 UTCI loved the first episode!!! I agree with you I prefer to have different actors who play the part as kids .... I’m excited for the next episodes I want to see what happened 10 years ago and why they never saw each other again and how their relationship will develop
