Theres just so much foreshadowing about Gons moral compass and his selfishness that finally comes to fruition here in full glory . And Gons and Killuas relationships , it was always portrayed as a bit more one sided . Kilua thinks the world of him , yet Gon just sees Killua as his best friend , but hes not as codependent as Killua is . And theres just this toxic , hurtful relationship that Killua finally sees. And as for Pitou , I dont think she recognizes Gon? And has no idea who Kite is, she only sees a threat and that she will do anything to heal Komugi. At least thats how I saw first time watching
