Liberos can be team captains, but they can't be floor captains. Floor captains generally stay on for the full match and since the libero stays out of rotation and constantly goes in and out of the back row for defense Nishinoya can't be floor captain. Daichi is both floor captain and team captain. Floor captain is the only one on the court who can address the referee and act as spokesperson for the team.
