After the trip to the pension, I ended up moving in with Sua. The trigger was Yerin starting to live on her own, but the main reason was Sua’s relentless push for it. There wasn’t much to move, but I still managed to fill a suitcase. I thought there’d be a lot to handle, like clearing out my old place, but Sunhwa took care of everything in one go.
"I finished it all. Just pack by tomorrow."
"...You did?"
"What, did you forget? I’m a recently divorced woman. I’m the best when it comes to handling problems."
I didn’t see the connection, but there was no point in arguing. Right before dropping me off at my place after our date, Sunhwa gave me a deep kiss in the car, licking her lips as she whispered,
"And I’m all for you moving in with unni."
"Are you still not comfortable bringing me home?"
"What are you talking about?"
Sunhwa laughed, flicking my nose with her finger.
"That’s not it. And Minji is commuting from home now. I sent her abroad alone for so long and barely got to be a mom. I want to spend more time with her. It’d be weird to have a strange man around, right?"
"Minji texted me, asking why I never come over."
"...That girl, honestly."
Sunhwa muttered, holding her forehead as if exasperated. Still, I knew not to misunderstand. Minji really just saw me as a big brother. She even asked me at her freshman orientation how to approach a senior she liked, and what kind of flirting works best.
"She just wants you to visit. I think Minji’s interested in someone."
"I know. That punk. I don’t like him."
Sunhwa puffed her cheeks, pouting. I chuckled and pinched her cheek.
After the date, I returned to my room and found it nearly empty. There wasn’t much to move Sua had already thrown out most of my clothes, my books were in my school locker, and I just needed to grab my laptop, tablet, and shoes.
"...Strange."
When I first got my abilities, I wanted to have as many women as possible, but now, I don’t feel that way. Maybe I realized that connecting emotionally is more enjoyable than just sleeping around, or maybe it’s just my personality. I didn’t want to waste energy pondering questions with no answers. For now, lying on my bed and fiddling with my phone was the best way to relax. If I started scrolling through short videos, I’d probably be at it until dawn.
"…"
I mindlessly swiped through my phone for a while. After a stream of random videos, a short edit of Sua’s interview appeared. I found myself smiling. She looked a bit less radiant on video than in person; her makeup and styling were more glamorous, but her smile wasn’t as bright. I thought she looked more beautiful when she was smiling happily in my arms.
".."
As I kept scrolling, one video caught my eye.
[Actress Mo Yoo-jung, Divorce After 18 Years.]
It looked like a hastily compiled news article, but it grabbed my attention because this actress was the one who shaped my tastes.
With long brown hair and a soft, gentle smile, her most notable feature was her overwhelming figure something rarely seen in Korea. When she first debuted, she even faced censorship because of it. I don’t necessarily agree with that decision, but I do think it would’ve been impossible to air her body as-is on TV. While there are plenty of busty actresses in the West, in Korea, people used to say, "At least we have Mo Yoo-jung."
She was an actress whose figure everyone acknowledged. And after I got obsessed with her during puberty, I never managed to change my preferences.
"...Divorce, huh."
It used to sound like something that happened to other people, but now, with Sunhwa having recently divorced, it didn’t seem so strange or unfamiliar anymore. Still, that was about as much thought as I wanted to give it. Pondering it any further would just make me a shut-in philosopher, and if I wanted to finish moving tomorrow, it was best to stop thinking about it now.
I went back to scrolling absentmindedly through my phone.
Sua looked more nervous than usual. Manager Yoon tried to help by bringing all sorts of tea and snacks, but nothing could ease her tension. Still, no one at the company found it odd.
Even the "Ice Queen" Han Sua had to personally handle this contract it was that important and big.
The reason was the beautiful woman sitting across from her in the company lounge.
"Sorry for dropping by so suddenly."
Dressed in a white blouse buttoned to the neck, straight pants that elegantly hugged her long legs, and a blazer that could never truly be buttoned, actress Mo Yoo-jung smiled softly.
"Oh, no..! But, why did you want to meet today…?"
Neither her manager nor the company had told Sua anything. She’d only received a message that morning, via her personal contact, saying Yoo-jung wanted to visit the company.
When she walked in, everyone in the company was stunned.
Yoo-jung didn’t seem to mind the commotion at all. Instead, she smiled gently and bowed her head in apology.
"Sorry for disturbing your work. I just wanted to chat with you for a bit, President. Sorry again to everyone."
Even if she’d been a legendary beauty of her era, if she bowed her head just for causing a stir, she’d probably never be able to straighten her slender waist again.
Famous people had visited the company before, but Yoo-jung’s presence was on another level she captivated everyone’s attention effortlessly.
It was no wonder no one could believe that Yoo-jung was now sitting with Sua, drinking tea and chatting warmly.
After putting down her teacup, Yoo-jung smiled.
"Actually, I’m a fan of yours, President."
"Y-you’re my fan..?"
Sua, of course, knew Yoo-jung very well, so it was hard to believe what she’d just heard. But Yoo-jung’s eyes sparkled as she continued.
"Yes! You did an interview recently, right? After watching it… it’s embarrassing, but I gained a lot of courage."
"Ah…"
There was no need to ask what she meant. With the whole country gossiping about Yoo-jung’s divorce, pretending not to know would have been more awkward.
"You must’ve been heartbroken."
"Oh, not at all."
Yoo-jung waved her hand with a light laugh.
"I actually feel so much lighter! Honestly, you know how hard it is to start over at our age. I was lucky to get famous early, but that doesn’t last forever. Looks fade quickly, so I wanted to settle down and have a good family… I thought that was everything. But after watching your interview, I felt relieved. I realized, ‘Ah, I can do this alone. I can make my daughter happy, too…’"
"Congratulations."
Sua hadn’t intended for her interview to have that effect, so she didn’t know what else to say.
"But how are you so beautiful? People would believe you’re a college student."
"Oh, no… You’re much more beautiful, Yoo-jung."
"Don’t call me ‘actress.’ Just use my name. How about we be sisters?"
"Y-yes..?! If you’re okay with it…"
Thanks to Yoo-jung’s incredible friendliness, they became "sisters" before they’d even finished a cup of tea. Other than that, there didn’t seem to be any issues.
But then Yoo-jung dropped a bombshell.
"Actually, the reason I came today isn’t anything special…"
"Hmm?"
"My daughter loves your clothes so much. She’s always asked me to model for your brand. My ex-husband wouldn’t let me, but now I can do what I want. So, do you have any new brands launching? If so, I’d like to be the model."
"Oh… well, there is one…"
When it came to new product launches, only one thing immediately came to Sua’s mind: the outrageously sexy lingerie line that had made for such steamy memories at the pension just a few days ago.
