EP.190 [The Elf Princess Priscilla Reveals Her True Form.]

‘What the heck is this?????’

Eugene Schneider, who had been confidently facing down the drake’s intimidating gaze, suddenly widened his eyes in shock at the voice that pierced his mind. In the past, thanks to the magic prodigy Elizabeth, he’d experienced telepathy games, so the sensation was somewhat familiar. This voice-the drake was using telepathy on him.

[Are you flustered, demon hybrid? Well, in this era, such an experience would be considered legendary.]

The drake’s telepathy continued.

[Someone has awakened the Eye of the Demon God, and I wondered what was happening. Now, meeting an interesting human like you by such a fateful connection, I’m unexpectedly looking forward to this.]

The drake then began spouting conspiratorial things that Eugene Schneider couldn’t make sense of.

‘The Eye of the Demon God? Someone awakened it? Is that why this thing is here??’

Bombarded by these incomprehensible words, Eugene was left not just confused but utterly dumbfounded.

[I ask you: are you a human chosen by the Sun God Anubis?]

The drake’s question was filled with curiosity.

“Sun God Anubis?”

Eugene had never heard of such a god. On the Fedon continent, the gods were traditionally goddesses, and a god wasn’t something that applied to a specific being.

[Oh... You really are a clueless child.]

The drake could clearly see Eugene’s confusion and responded with a sigh.

“This giant lizard dares to call me a child!”

-Swoosh!!

Annoyed and mentally off-balance from the drake’s dismissiveness, Eugene brandished his greatsword boldly.

[In that case...]

Sss...!

“Hey! Where are you looking!”

But Eugene’s bravado was completely ignored. The drake suddenly turned its head away.

[I’ll give you an upgrade.]

The drake’s gaze shifted to Priscilla.

‘Is this bastard going to attack Priscilla?’

Eugene realized this and quickly regained his composure.

But-

-ROAARRRR!!!

The drake’s tail lashed out again, not at Priscilla but at Eugene, who was nearby.

-Swoosh!!

“Tch!”

It was a completely unexpected attack, but Eugene barely dodged it.

Crash!

Still, he lost his balance and fell,

Roll! Roll! Roll!

Tumbling harshly across the desert’s rough ground.

“Eugene!!!”

Priscilla, seeing this, shouted in alarm.

“Damn...! This thing’s even using psychological warfare?”

-Ssshhh!

But since he wasn’t actually hurt, Eugene quickly got up and regained his stance.

[Draw out your power, human! Show me the kind of human chosen by Anubis!]

-CHUAAAAH!

That brief moment was enough for the drake to close the distance.

The drake approached so close that its head-not just its tail-could reach Eugene.

-ROAAAAARRR!!

The drake opened its jaws wide and unleashed a lion’s roar at Eugene Schneider.

“Whoa!!!!!”

-BOOOOOM!!!

It was as if the very air rippled, and Eugene’s heavy body was lifted and hurled away.

“Kh!”

-CRASHCRASHCRASHCRASH!!!

Eugene was sent flying about 20 meters, crashing into the ground.

-FWOOSH!!!

As Eugene tumbled so miserably across the ground, the drake jumped after him mercilessly.

‘The quest has failed-I need to grab Eugene and escape!’

-FWOOSH!!

Eugene could no longer escape on his own. The plan to keep the drake’s attention and gather information was ruined, and Priscilla now had to leap forward to save him.

Priscilla leapt like a bird-

FLASH!!!

Her small body burst into a brilliant emerald light.

And then-

Sssssss...! Shuuuu...! Swoooosh...!

Within the flash, Priscilla’s silhouette rapidly transformed.

Swoosh!

After being thrown 20 meters and rolling again, Eugene Schneider barely managed to regain his posture.

‘It looked bad, but the damage isn’t that great. As expected, the Baramion armor Mina made blocked the internal damage. I could feel it absorbing the impact.’

Despite being tossed around, Eugene’s eyes were still sharp. The reason: he’d confirmed the quality of the Baramion armor. The lion’s roar attack might not have been a direct hit, but it could have caused serious internal injury. But the Baramion armor, which strengthens durability with mana, blocked that internal damage. Of course, that was also thanks to Eugene’s diligent training to draw out the armor’s full potential.

In any case, it was the attack he’d been most worried about from a monster with so many variables, and he was relieved to have been prepared.

“Shit!”

But as he steadied himself and looked back at the drake, Eugene saw the massive creature leaping toward him and couldn’t help but curse out loud.

At that moment-

-KUAANG!!!

A tremendous crash resounded.

Fssshhh...!!!

A dazzling mana effect appeared, forming around the drake’s tail. Something had flown at the drake, and it had hurriedly used its tail to block it.

‘What happened? Thanks to that, the drake’s stance is off!’

-Ssssssssss!!!

But from Eugene’s perspective, he couldn’t see exactly what happened. He just heard the crash and saw a mana effect as the drake’s tail, which had been about to attack him, was used defensively instead. Scanning the situation quickly, Eugene escaped from the drake’s landing zone.

-THUD!!

The drake landed.

“Grrrrrr...!”

The drake turned its head in the opposite direction from where Eugene had dodged.

‘Huh???’

Now that he’d put some distance and could see more clearly, Eugene also looked in the direction the drake was staring and his eyes widened.

‘Priscilla?’

There stood Priscilla.

‘Is that really Priscilla?’

More specifically, it was a being completely different in appearance from the Priscilla he knew. But this mysterious figure was definitely holding Priscilla’s World Tree Bow.

“So you’ve finally made me reveal this form. I’m running out of spirit energy, though.”

That’s right. Sensing Eugene Schneider was in danger, Priscilla had released her energy-conserving transformation and revealed her true form.

‘It’s true. Priscilla is about as tall as Mina! She’s not a bratty little kid-she’s a cold, regal elf princess!’

Even in this life-or-death crisis with the drake still looming, Priscilla’s true form was so stunning Eugene couldn’t help but be awestruck. She truly looked every bit the elf princess she’d claimed to be-if anything, her earlier boasts had been an understatement. She was no longer a 150cm kid, but a supermodel-like figure radiating mystery, nobility, and an ageless beauty.

[Heh heh...! So you really are royal elf blood? I can get exactly the result I wanted.]

The drake sent another telepathic message.

“What, now it’s using telepathy?” But this time, it wasn’t just to Eugene-it was a multi-telepathy sent to both Eugene and Priscilla. That’s why Priscilla, aiming her World Tree Bow at the drake, reacted with surprise.

“Priscilla, you can hear it too? That thing’s been sending me telepathy this whole time.”

“No wonder-you were just standing there like you’d been hit with a tranquilizer dart before it really started attacking.”

Eugene wasn’t able to distinguish between solo and multi-telepathy, so he confirmed it based on Priscilla’s reaction.

“This means it’s at least more than what I said before. Now, Eugene, our only option is to get out of here.”

-FSSSSSS!!!

“Let’s do that, Priscilla!”

-SWOOSH!!

There was a truckload of information to share, but there was no time. Priscilla drew her World Tree Bow, charging it with mana, and Eugene prepared to retreat, ready to backstep away.

[Now that I see you both up close, I can create a very satisfying upgrade.]

Srrrrrrr...!!!

The drake turned its body directly toward them, making no attempt to dodge their attack.

“Cut the crap!”

-FWOOOOOOSH!!!

Priscilla’s bowstring was fully charged with emerald mana. The World Tree Arrow fired, roaring like a laser.

‘Priscilla’s attack is beyond what I know of expert archers!’

-FWOOSH!!!

As Priscilla fired, Eugene backstepped toward her, joining up so he could tank and she could cover. Even in the midst of retreat, he couldn’t help but notice how extraordinary Priscilla’s World Tree Arrow performance was.

[If you’re a Seeker-level elf archer, I suppose you’d be that confident.]

The reason Priscilla could display such force was that, in her true form, she was not just an expert but a Seeker-level elf archer.

[But-]

-KUAANG!!

Once again, the drake blocked Priscilla’s attack with its tail.

[But can you withstand my debuff attack in that energy state?]

-FSSSSSSSH!! -FWOOOSH!!

From the drake’s scales, black-red mana smoke poured out menacingly.

“Damn! Hold your breath and run! The drake’s casting a debuff spell!”

“I’m already set! Priscilla, come here!”

Thunk!

The debuff magic was cast without warning, and Priscilla’s face twisted in frustration. Eugene reached her side and grabbed her wrist.

[No chance. You think I’ll let you escape?]

FLASH!

The drake’s eyes gleamed as it continued to spew poisonous debuff magic.

And then-

RUMBLERUMBLERUMBLERUMBLE!!!

The ground beneath Eugene and Priscilla began to collapse.
