Chapter 74. Teaching a Mom Who Raised Her Daughter Wrong (1)

“Second Lieutenant Kim Jaejun? Over here.”

“Ah, yes.”

Waving her right hand just above shoulder height, the beautiful woman made it clear she was the person I was looking for. As I bowed lightly and approached, her aura-both sophisticated and subtly sensual-became even more apparent.

Her slim arms, legs, and waist contrasted with the explosive volume of her breasts and hips. Her figure, literally an hourglass shape, was further accentuated by a tight dress. I took a seat in the chair across from her, where she sat with her long legs crossed.

As soon as I pulled my chair in, she took a business card from a luxury-branded wallet and handed it to me. I quickly scanned the small card to confirm her identity.

[Kim Jiseon, Executive Director, Hanbyul Electronics]

Anyone living in Korea would have heard of Hanbyul Group, always competing for first or second place among the country’s conglomerates. Sitting in front of me was the executive director of Hanbyul Electronics, the most famous company in the group-a fact that shocked me once. Then, realizing this executive director was the “problem mom” who had come to protest her daughter’s disciplinary action, I felt a wave of despair.

‘Damn... I’m screwed... Isn’t the Hanbyul Group owner’s family also named Kim?’

As I sighed deeply inside, wondering how I was supposed to persuade someone with such a vastly higher social status than myself, a café employee approached with a tray and set an iced Americano in front of me.

“Huh? I haven’t ordered yet...”

“I ordered it for you. Would you prefer something else?”

“No, thank you. I’ll enjoy it.”

“Then let’s get right to talking about my daughter Juhyun.”

No sooner had the café worker left than Kim Jiseon dove straight into talking about her daughter. Her plump lips, painted with provocative red lipstick, moved nonstop as she argued her daughter’s innocence, while I could only repeat phrases like “But...” or “That would be difficult.”

Just as I expected from our phone call yesterday, our conversation ran in parallel lines like train tracks, never drawing closer. ‘How am I supposed to cancel a fair punishment given to a soldier who broke the rules...’

Thus, about twenty minutes passed in a tense standoff between common sense and nonsense. When only ice was left in the two glasses on the table, Kim Jiseon’s gaze, which had been slightly upturned since our first meeting, grew even sharper.

“This is going nowhere. Instead of staying here, let’s move to a place I know well.”

With the same one-sided attitude she’d shown throughout, she abruptly suggested moving, and clicked out of the café on sharp high heels. In any other situation, I might have found her swaying hips quite appetizing, but I quickly snapped out of it and followed her to the parking lot.

There, I saw Kim Jiseon opening the door of a black Porsche sports car.

Now 44 years old, Kim Jiseon is the second daughter of the third son of Hanbyul Group’s founder, the late Kim Yuseung. Now that the group has been passed to the founder’s eldest son, she doesn’t hold much sway over the company’s direction. It’s common for her to serve as an executive in a few subsidiaries inherited by her father after the founder’s death.

Still, the fact that she holds an executive director position at Hanbyul Electronics, the core of Hanbyul Group, proves her exceptional abilities. Even considering her “owner family” status, her outstanding work has kept employees from talking behind her back-though, of course, no one would dare voice complaints anyway.

Despite her seemingly perfect life, Kim Jiseon had one problem: her only daughter, Na Juhyun, born from a marriage of convenience with her now-deceased husband ten years ago.

Though the child was from a strategic marriage, she was so precious that even the thought of harm pained Kim Jiseon. She used all her wealth and influence to give her daughter whatever she wanted. But perhaps because of this overindulgence, Na Juhyun grew up spoiled and self-centered, lacking consideration for others. Whenever she faced even minor discomfort, she would openly show her displeasure, if not throw a tantrum.

Realizing her daughter’s warped character too late, Kim Jiseon tried to correct her in recent years, but it was too late for a sudden miracle. ‘Ugh, why should I care about other people?’ Juhyun would complain, responding to her mother’s nagging with shopping sprees or club parties. Even when Kim Jiseon cut off her cards, Juhyun would rack up debts in her mother’s name or even take out private loans.

Eventually, Kim Jiseon half-gave up on “correcting” her daughter, telling herself, “She’ll come around someday.” Then, the one thing no Korean can avoid-military service-came for Juhyun.

“Mom! Do something about the army! Do you want to see me die?”

“It’s not like the old days-you can’t just get out of the army. If I try, I’ll go to jail too.”

When her daughter, close to screaming, begged to dodge the draft, Kim Jiseon saw it as a golden opportunity. Of course, with her wealth and connections, she could have gotten Juhyun out of the army easily, but she hoped her unruly daughter might finally mature through military life.

‘If she lives with seniors and peers and gets used to military hierarchy, maybe she’ll finally grow up.’

Kim Jiseon knew that others might suffer while her daughter adjusted to military life, but she thought it would be better for society in the long run if her daughter, who would inherit enormous wealth, became a decent person.

Still, memories of her daughter’s tantrums before enlistment and stories of accidents or deaths in the army made her nervous, so she secretly hired a service to keep her updated on Juhyun’s life in the unit.

From the day Juhyun entered boot camp, and later after being assigned to an artillery unit in Gyeonggi-do, Kim Jiseon received daily texts about her daughter’s life in the unit.

[Private Na Juhyun designated as “special attention soldier.”]

[Private Na Juhyun’s reputation in the unit worsens after conflict with seniors.]

[Private Na Juhyun is getting more used to unit life.]

Seeing these regular updates and noticing even a slight improvement in her daughter’s personality, Kim Jiseon felt satisfied with her decision to send her to the army.

Then, one day, she received a text that was very different from usual.

[... Rumors are spreading in the unit about the 3rd Battery Platoon Leader’s penis size.]

[(photo)]

Though she sometimes got news about others in the unit, a rumor about penis size was a first. Embarrassed but intrigued, she tapped the attached photo and saw a group of soldiers in athletic gear running. Her eyes were immediately drawn to the young man at the front of the formation-specifically, to the center of his lower body.

“Oh my...”

The sight of his heavy silhouette, clearly visible through his dark gray shorts, made Kim Jiseon gasp in genuine admiration. Even though the photo wasn’t perfectly clear and it looked like he wasn’t even erect, his bulge looked bigger than most adult men’s when hard.

She couldn’t help but wonder, ‘How big does it get when he’s hard?’

From that day on, every time she got a text about her daughter’s unit, she opened it with a flutter, hoping for more news about the 3rd Battery Platoon Leader...
