A while back I did a poll asking you guys and gals what you wanted to see in terms of subject matter for future ENF stories. I forget what all the categories were, but they were pretty standard: Superhero, Fantasy, Science Fiction, and Everyday Situations, and the usual "do whatever you want, Leg" option that I always throw in there. As I recall, "Everyday Situations" dominated the other categories by a significant margin. even beating out "do whatever you want, Leg", which usually carries the day. "Superhero", however, was dead last, which was particularly sobering because I was smack dab in the middle of Laser Lass at that time with no real end in sight.
Luckily, things worked out: everyone seemed to enjoy Laser Lass, and since then I've done a lot more everyday situation stuff which is going over fairly well. The fact remains, however, that I enjoy the occasional superhero ENF, and since I'm the guy with the stylus and bad posture from hunkering over a graphic tablet all day, I figured it wouldn't hurt to scribble up the odd superhero themed ENF now and again.
To wit: The DC Stripathon (which is what I'm now calling this thing) continues with Supergirl returning from a snack run to find that the situation has deteriorated in her absence. Couple notes about this one: I don't know much about Starfire's powers, I'm just a fan of what some pop culture churls have sneeringly dubbed the "born sexy yesterday" trope. That being a character who is naive about the world in which they find themselves, who also happens to be physically attractive and in some cases fairly gullible.
I had always planned to have Mercy steal her boots while Harley had her in a full Nelson, but when I went to look up her powers to see what orifices she could shoot lasers out of, I found out she also has super strength. Not at Superman levels or anything, but certainly enough that Harley isn't going to be able to push her around as portrayed here. I ultimately decided that funny trumped comic book fidelity and chalked Quinn's temporary dominance as Starfire not understanding for a moment that she's under attack. I also threw in the line about her being stronger than she looks just to let the reader know that I at least looked up a Wikipedia article about her at some point in my creative process.
I also decided to go with Silver Age Supergirl. which might have been a mistake because her hairstyle is pretty hard to draw.
