She's not about to stick her neck out and potentially get chucked into orbit like Team Rocket, especially when the cost/ benefit ratio is so out of whack. Sure, she could try to warn the mysterious stranger about the potential risk to her modesty, but she just spent a good hour and a half this afternoon learning that she probably won't listen. So our girl uses her golden-tressed head and decides to wait for the gnome's back to be turned and go through its basket to see if there's anything big enough to wear. Noble? Maybe not. Practical? You bet! But what's this? Her name has been mentioned. Is this enough to spark the curiosity of our young heroine? I mean, probably.
In case anyone is wondering why the mystery lady is saying "rhubarb", it was something film extras used to say when they were talking in the background of a scene. It sounds like indistinct crowd noise so as not to distract from the actor's dialogue in the foreground. Fun fact of the day!

I can confirm, though that Miss Hattaway is a benevolent CEO, and does not have designs for world domination. You have stumbled onto an idea I was thinking about for a little later on for a task force of sexy agents who are tasked with neutralizing the gnomes, and an initial briefing that does not go to plan. I want to wait to do it, though, because I feel the gnomes have earned a break for a little while after this story.
