EmuDeck WE 2.1.14 Quick fix
Added 2023-06-13 07:37:37 +0000 UTCHi, it seems the new gaming mode feature is having a bigger than usual % of failure among you guys so we are pulling the feature until we can figure out why it's not working as intended!
For those of you that have it already enabled and working don't worry, it will continue to work.
If you haven't enabled it and want to test it out, you can manually enable it by navigating to this folder:
To enable it
USERFOLDER/AppData/Roaming/EmuDeck/backend/tools/gamemode/enablegamemode.bat
To disable it:
USERFOLDER/AppData/Roaming/EmuDeck/backend/tools/gamemode/disablegamemode.bat
If you don't get Steam UI when loading and you get a black screen just press
CTRL + ALT + DEL, open Task Manager -> File - Run new task, write explorer and hit enter.
Navigate to USERFOLDER/AppData/Roaming/EmuDeck/backend/tools/gamemode/disablegamemode.bat and you should be back on your Desktop

Still having problems for the controls to work I open it on emulationstation and regular ps2 in steam and controller doesn’t work any fix?

2023-06-16 02:11:18 +0000 UTCThanks, in some systems the number of " makes the script work, when in others don't. Have to check if is somewhat related to languages? I know windows changes stuff like keyboard shortcuts per language, who knows if it affects this too

2023-06-15 07:50:27 +0000 UTCI've figured out the issue that was preventing at least me from using Gaming Mode on Windows 11, there was some errors being thrown in the reg add commands that set Steam's Big Picture Mode as the windows shell. I am no programming boffin, so I asked GPT-4 for advice and it correctly advised on the fixes needed to the syntax. Here's the scoop https://chat.openai.com/share/34ba5b2a-5fc2-4cfd-b70f-2404fe33d64d I can confirm that these changes allow my Gaming Mode to work, although I'm met with a prompt of "Setting up SteamUI...Value Shell exists, overwrite(Yes/No)?" after entering Y gaming mode fires up :D

If I put it on "Auto" and switch the controls to "Pro Controller" and Input device "Xbox 360 controller", it doesn't recognize any inputs. I think the Rog Ally is staying in desktop mode because, if I change the input device to "keyboard, it will allow me to navigate, but no button inputs. Not smart enough to know why the Rog isn't automatically switching to gamepad mode itself, lol. Thank you for looking into this.

2023-06-14 18:09:23 +0000 UTCIt is that 😬. When launching steam / emulation station the ally default to auto. I had to go into armory crate and creat a profile for steam so it goes into game mode when it launches. Saves doing it manually. The only other issue I noted, that may be of use to you, is that mame doesn't seem to work out the box, but I don't know if that is ally specific, I had to use mame 2003. Then anything that uses retroarch had no sound, I had to go into retroacrch settings and make dsound the default on the audio driver, as xaudio was defaulted when I installed it. Just got to test things like yuzu later.

2023-06-14 11:16:48 +0000 UTCThe only way I can get Yuzu to work on my Rog Ally is to turn the control mode to "Gamepad" instead of "Auto". After I made this change, I went into configuration on Yuzu and switched the controls to "Handheld" and input device "Xbox 360 Controller 0". I hope there is another way to get this to work automatically without having to go through all these adjustments each time I want to play something in Yuzu.

2023-06-14 08:50:15 +0000 UTCI may have sussed this out, and might be useful to you for testing. It's armoury crate and the control mapping. It defaults to auto, and it seems steam / emulation station treat it as keyboard layout. Use the armoury crate button and change it to gamepad it starts to work. If you look in the keyboard mapping on armoury crate for desktop mode the b button is mapped to escape.

I launch emulation station through steam and the a button does as expected and selects but the b button doesn't go back a menu, and instead brings up the main menu. I've tried every button and non work as the back button? I.e. x and y are acting like page up and down. I selected the ally as the device when doing the install process. Any ideas?

This is a brand new SD card (never used). I removed the SD card and put it back in multiple times and still not recognized. How can I fix this?
