It's a shame that on Windows you have to wait for the Desktop to load and then you need to wait for Steam to launch... yuck.
Well, why should we be content with less on Windows?
New Gaming Mode
Now you can select how you want your device to boot, directly into Steam UI ( aka Big Picture Mode ) and go straight to gaming!
Want to go to your Desktop to run anything else? Just exit Steam and your Desktop will show up, click on the Back to Gaming Mode icon on your Desktop to get back to Gaming Mode, just like in the Steam Deck!
Next time you reboot you'll be back to Gaming Mode.
We think this feature is super handy for handhelds and living room computers.
PS: Right now the loading times between modes are a bit long, we are working on optimising it.
New Patreon Login
Some of you have had issues with your antivirus blocking the login or pledges not getting recognized, there's a new login method that should fix all that both for Windows and SteamOS.
We've also added a new button to change your Patreon account in case you logged in into the wrong one.

Per Device Optimizations
Since all the controllers are now being detected automatically we've changed that functionality to apply customizations for specific devices like the Aya Neo 2, GPD Win 4, Rog Ally, etc...
Just open your EmuDeck app to get all the updates both on SteamOS and Windows. You can enable Gaming Mode on Quick Settings, you will need to manually restart your computer after.
That's all for now, the surprise I teased last week is gonna have to wait for a bit, doing these features took a looooot of time and we wanted to have this ready for the Rog Ally launch.

If you enter into Gaming Mode and for some reason you are stuck do the following:
Plug a keyboard into your device and press CTRL ALT DELETE
Open then Task manager, File, Run new task and write explorer , hit Enter.
Navigate to your User folder\AppData\Roaming\EmuDeck\backend\tools\gamemode\ and run disabelgamemode.bat
If that doesn't work, go back to task manager and run this time: regedit
Navigate the tree until you get to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon, click on that folder and look on the right for Shell, double click it and change the value to explorer.exe and restart your device.
