Just to explain why Chiron had to save Achilles a little more: Achilles is completely immune to all attacks from those without divinity. However, a vampire biting him and turning him into another vampire is considered an act of friendship, for some reason. This means that it can completely bypass his invulnerability. Chiron had to save him, not just because he cared about him, but because Achilles is the only real equal to Karna in this war, which means that him being turned into a vampire would have made the fight WAAYYYY harder for everyone.
