Second channel: Let's try to remove scratches from a CRT

Hello my patrons! So a follow-up from the Trash-Picked TV video on the main channel, I tried polishing out the scratches on that TV. If I ruined the TV, I didn't really care so this was perfect thing to experiment on.
I know I have more work to do testing out various methods, but I think this is a winner.
Thanks for all your support!

Nah I wouldn't say any different. It more just to help it align with my ability to respond to comments as I'm always at home on Sundays. :-)

Adrian, how did the Sunday video release go? Do the stats look better?

Nice I'll order one of those kits. The smaller polishing discs seem better for smaller scratches versus things over a large area. Was your IBM monitor etched glass or was it some chemical anti-glare coating like on more modern screens?

I used a kit like this:

Attached to a cordless drill. I also had a spray bottle of water and kept the front of the CRT cooled and wet the entire time. An implosion is definitely possible, especially if the glass overheats. I had excellent results with my 19” IBM monitor. I did have to polish the entire surface though as the monitor had an antiglare coating. Polishing just the scratched bit would have left a shiny spot!
