The anime doesn't say much about these 2 which isn't that suprising bc most japenase would know their stories already

Some Backstory on Ushiwaka; He (ofc bc fate they made him a girl) was an Orphan with most of his family killed at a young age so he devoted himself to the way of a samurai to make a living and serve under a feudal lord. He also meets benkei along the way (the man with gray eyes thats always with her) and they had an epic battle on a famous japan bridge that ushiwaka showed off insane swordsmanship and thus benkei decided to become his servant for eternity. Down the line Ushiwaka found out her brother was alive and when she found him pledged loyalty too serve him under his any goal. But quickly his brother realized that he could take out army's of men and feared ushiwakas strength growing jealous and nervous. Therefore without hesitating leading a suprise attack on Ushiwaka and a couple other troops including Benkei, Ushiwaka caught off guard and borderline heart broken knew their was no victory for them so Benkei held off hundreds of men infront of the bridge leading too his master but dying on his knees with many cuts over him but allowing Ushiawaka too die the noble way and drived his sword into his stomach (comitting seppuku)
Pretty fucking tragic but in japan both ushiawaka and benkei are very famous tales admired for their nobility and strength
