Second channel: Atari 1200XL Mini-Repair and Mod-Discovery

Hello my patrons! On a recent second channel video I looked at all of my Atari 8-bit computers looking for broken ones. This 1200XL had some minor issues along with some mysterious mods. In this video I open the machine to uncover what mods have been done and fix the issues with the computer. Besides this computer, I also have two more in-depth repair episodes for the other two broken machines coming up. I hope everyone is ready for some Atari 8-bit repair! :-)

Reminder to everyone in the Dallas/Fort-Worth Area, I'll be at VCF SouthWest at the end of the month.

I know the date on the bottom says 1-18-85, but if memory serves me right (and Wikipedia has my back) the 1200XL was only on sale shortly at the start of '83. Is it possible the 5 is a malformed 3?

These Ataris are so reliable. It would be nice to restore the switch, but label it properly. I wonder if there could be a way to add a small circuit so when the composite pin (or some other pin generally not used) is shunted to ground (via resistor) in the cable it automatically switches to luma chroma mode with those resistors lifted. That would make the switch unnecessary and luma choma mode automatic.
