Second channel: Can I even find a broken Atari 8-bit computer?
Added 2025-05-21 23:45:42 +0000 UTCHello my patrons! Next up on the second channel: I'm on the hunt for a broken Atari 8-bit computer. I gathered them up and made a chill video where I test them all up to see if even a single one is bad. (Electrically bad, I'm ignoring keyboard issues.)
Compared to the C64, these things are super reliable!
Thanks for the all the support!

Growing up, I mostly used the 800XL that we had. But there were a few games that we had that only ran on the 400! I remember one had UFOs and I’d use the 400 to play that game.

2025-05-31 00:09:22 +0000 UTCThat's right -- I know some of these would have been from a old format mail call years ago. They have been stored in a box for some future repair and it's finally time!

2025-05-27 18:28:41 +0000 UTCIt always makes me happy to see computers I remember you showing or repairing in previous videos from years ago reappearing in new videos! I remember the mail call video that the Ataris that you got from Stewart first appeared in (it was long enough ago that it was in the old Mid-Week Mini Mail Call format and not the current Super Mini Mail Call format you have now) as well as the videos you did of that last Atari 800 you tested in this video

2025-05-22 18:52:51 +0000 UTCswapping of the 130xe keyboard membrane would be interesting. Back in the days I fixed many amstrad 664 with conductive silver paint. (that was specifically for repair of flex traces)
